Hi all,

i have tried to oc via asus software to 30%, when windows starts i get the BLUE Screen or auto reboot...

i cant seem to change cpu speed in bios...

so what i did, i took the cpu out and then put it back in, now the bios finds the real speed
but same shit happens when windows start and after a reboot , the bios shows OCed speed again...

maybe i should try that again, and start directly in safe mode then uninstall ai nos...if it works...

or maybe install a new windows on another hd then somehow manually bypass or take out the command line that AI NOS controls...maybe in boot.ini ?

if anybody has a clue on how to do this, it would be very helpful

thx

OK, uninstall the AI NOS. Then, reset the cmos by removing the motherboard battery for 10 seconds, then replace it. Now reboot. This should take care of your problem.

You don't need to uninstall it. just start windows in safe mode. run>msconfig then disable it on startup. You can then play with it some more.

i'd just do the oc'ing the old fashioned way. i'm a diehard asus fan but i've never much cared for their oc'ing tools.

Yup, read one of the guides, it's all done in the bios. And, hey, if you mess up Asus O.C. protection will re-set it to the original settings for you (after you completely power down)

No, if you set it in the bios options, and it's a bad setting the bios should reset back to default.
If you do it in windows it runs on startup, that's where you get problems

All windows based overclocking software has at least some bugs. You are always better off overclocking in the bios. Actually, I'd go as far to say that you should overclock in the bios, or not at all.
