E5200 4Ghz, Do you think my budget build can do it?

Oh sorry I thought I wrote the mobo I got the:

Like I said in the first post, I got it to run 300fsb @ 3.6ghz with practically my eyes closed for a friends build. So if I get a equivalent or better chip and use this Sunbeam CR-CCTF and a little extra voltage I think 4Ghz will be easy.

No i havent tryed it yet but i will do, thanks for the tip

3.6ghz is a walk in the park for most if not all the E5200's but unless you get a really good chip its difficult to push it to 4ghz+

Even if I do just get 3.6-4.0 Ghz Range I'll still be happy. But even better would be higher than 4.0!

I've all ways found that if your hitting 3.5 on anything is a sweet number!! But, that is just me..

I like round numbers

. 4GHz for example. I`m going to change this chip when generation will come up that can hit 5GHz

. All 5 E5200 that I tested all can hit 3.8 GHz. Mobo are also important. From Gigabyte from budget boards I have heard that P31 ds3l (I think that was model) is great ocer. For the money even 3.5GHz is great. That is 40% overclock I want to see GPU overclock that much.

Yeap tryed that, still 3.9ghz needs 1.55V+ and im not even sure how long that would stay stable, not really worth putting in that much extra volts for 100mhz, I was impressed with the temps though, even while running 1.55V load it was under 64 degrees

Yeap load voltage and temp, idle was about 40 and 1.58V, bios was set at 1.6V

That is water cooling voltage. If I set that voltage it wont boot even at 3.8GHz.
Did you power down your PC after exit from the bios and setting new settings. I have noticed that most of the boards when approach max overclock after setting in bios and save and exit don`t post that time, that need to be powered down soft restart doesnt doing the job.

It posted from completely off no problem at 1.55V bios, i upped it up to 1.6V through Gigacraps Easytune program, the only time i have problems is posting from cold boot at over 3.8ghz. I have a Thermalright Ultra 120 Extreme with just a 1200rpm 12cm on it, 1200rpm 12cm at the back of the case and a 900rpm 14cm at the top, room temps is bout 19-20 degrees

I have little experience with Gigabyte. From all the boards I have stated before only on P7 platinum I have tried Q6600 and it was posting at 3.95 GHz but make it stable I had to lower it to 3.6 GHz but I had only one night to play with. For P43 only current one that I had tested and it is great ocer for dual cores I don`t how will play along with quads could be different picture even less I know about Gigabyte P43.
