re-installing windows on HP NC8000

hello all...

i have just reinstalled windows on this NC8000 by HP and am having a problem with one device..

the device shows up as a Basic system device under other devices.... is there a way i can find some basic information on the device to find out what it is,

the website has about a million drivers for this thing as with any laptop...

any ideas would be greatly appreciated Thanks

You probably just need the main chipset/mobo drivers from the MF's site.

that is what i thought too.. but i have installed this already, and no dice..... it is still just a basic system device

Have you run Windows update yet? That sometimes picks it up, for me.

so i went and did the update, and still no dice, i have no idea what this thing is in the device manager because everything works just fine, but something is still not installed... if anybody has any ideas on what this device might be, i would certainly appreciate it
