heres the thing, most decent boards today allready have gigabit ethernet integrated with decent chips from yukon or broadcom,
then, the ping depends on your internet provider, internal network lag, unless you have wifi or a really bad switch, wont go over 2-5ms, and in that case, its a transport medium problem, not a nic problem,

the only thing you could use is artifical lag that can create, and thats more or less cheating,

its basicly a usless expencive toy for fanboys, it had no real world aplication

yeah prolly wont help ping times and most onboard nics r good enough.... if your into squezing every last 0.01% out of yur comp then this may be for you.

Too much is "unpredictable" in IP terms of, for instance:

1.) Shared bandwidth (& trust me on this from having worked in Tier #1 network engineering for CableVision years ago, when they were the fastest thing going & still may be even vs. TimeWarner RoadRunner cable (my two I have used & compared) & now on VERIZON DSL - IT IS ALL SHARED to some extent).

2.) Internet "Weather Conditions" in general (i.e.-> Congested routers, ping times, game servers loads, etc.)

I'm on wireless and the highest ping I ever have to my router now is 2ms :rockout:

which I am very pleased with (99% of pings will be 1ms). If this network card could shave those 2ms then good for it - I wouldn't notice and any ping to game servers under 50ms is likely to not have any real effect on how well you play your game. If you want to win, GET BETTER!!!

) cfosspeed...does the same thing. All that the killernic is doing is prioritizing packets; and shaping the bandwidth by controlling the act packets...the same thing that cfosspeed does.

hey ive got a computer that is almost equal to this nic card we should bench them and see whats faster a celeron 466 w/ 192mb of sdram and windows 98se or this nic card w/ 400mhz cpu 64mb ddr and linux
