my question is that curently i have an SLI system with q6600 @ 3ghz cpu installed in it.curently idle temps for my 2 x 8800 GTX are 57C & 60C and it can go to 80C & 82C in heavy gaming like crysis..both fans on 8800GTX cards are on 100% speed and my case have five 120mm fans.my cpu q6600@3ghz idle temp is 35C and it can go to 45C under heavy load!!! my question is that what will be my idle temps of my gpus if i put third 8800GTX to my system to make it tri SLI????
i mean what will be the idle temps of all three cards and load temps !!! my system is not watercooled all is on AIR!!! i am living in germany and you know its too cold out here and my room temps are little hot but when i open my rooms window so the 8800 gtx temps drops 50C % 54C respectively of both graphic cards in idle state because when i open my window cool air comes inside and cpu temps goes down from 35C to 28C in idle :)so my question..........!
if i add 3rd 8800gtx to my system to make TRI SLI what idle and load temps i shall expect from my all three gpu and qq660@ 3GHZ all on air..??? my system specs are:--

q6600 overclocked @ 3GHz 1.256V
cpu fan:- cnps9700
2 x XFX 8800 gtx overclocked @ 630/1000
4 GB OCZ DDR2 SLI Ram @ 900 2.15V
1 x DVD RW
1 x floppy drive
1 x 320 GB Sata western digital hard disk
corsair TX-850 PSU

windows vista 32-bit

expect a 5-10C rise in temperature of each component....but thats not gonna hurt coz max temp limit of gpus is around 120C(my 7600gt got 125C)...and cpu is 95-105C...so u dont need to worry about that...and i wonder wat u wanna do with a third 8800gtx...lolz....

CPU sounds fine, just the GTX's are huge dies and are old hardware now, newer more powerful cards like the revised 260's with the die shrink would better suite your needs.

Id recommend you dont get a third GTX as the performance gains will be hardly worth the hassle + extra heat. Try buying some newer cards or something with the money :toast:

i think i shall not buy new DX10 cards now like gtx 260 or 295 series because in windows7 its
DX11 not DX10 !!!! so why shall i sell 8800gtx which is DX10 and buy again DX10 gpu like gtx260 or so?????????because windows 7 will be launced at the end of this years in which their is DX11 so i think i better shall wait for nvidias DX11 graphic cards!!! what do you say now bro??????????

I say, for a start, try formatting a sentence correctly, secondly, it was just a suggestion, there's no gun to your head.

Agree with Kyle sell your 2 GTXs', use the proceeds from that and the $ you would spend for a third and get a GTX 285.You will use less power and have a faster setup :toast: for little to probably no money. Hell you may pocket some lol. I lol at your Dx 11 statements Dx 10 is still a baby

besides DX11 is likely to be a long time before it gets used properly ,even now DX10 isn't exactly beating down DX9 is it?
