Good: its better than your integrated graphics.
Bad: Its DDR2, and for that price you could have easily picked up something better.

Well, you overpaid as far as bang-for-buck ratio is concerned. A 9600GS/8800GS card would have been a better choice for about the same amount of cash or less.

Here is a website that you can consult for comparison purposes.

http://www.gpureview.com/show_cards.php?card1=578&card2=

It let's you compare raw specifications for hundreds of GPU's. (No actual benchmarks though.)

Try returning it, mate. :p
A lot of convenience stores sell pre-paid visa things. Put some money on one of those and buy a new card. My friends have done it to buy games on steam.

TERRIBLE DEAL. You can get a HD 4670 for that much and it's almost 4x better.

You all say that i could get better for less but First i'm from Quebec so calculate the exchange rate you will see the price I paid in US dollars. Second, I made lot of stores here and cheaper than that was 8400GS for about the same price.

Who said I wanna play games? :p I know everyone here expenses a lot of cash for having the hyper-rig but I don't mind im not really on computer other than for work and for watching movies with the DVD player. Of course its poor results card for guys like you who seek always the best parts to have better computer than anyone else. Anyway I asked the GOOD ant the BAD about this video card ...not to tell me its shit or wich one is better than mine.

So please leave constructive comments more useful than that.
Thanx

thats a really horrific price i think, i mean come on my videocard is barely worth that much and mine is like umm, 4-5 times the gpu power and exactly 10 times the memory bandwidth.

EDIT:
if you don't have a credit card get a debit card, 10 dollars and you can get yourself a netspend crap one, it charges 1 dollar for credit card transactions and 2 dollars for debit card transactions. its easy to get and it can be filled from just about anywhere. also its visa so u can use it anywhere.

altho i think there are probably better ones out there, i would look around.

Look, if you're after the specs, then Google is your friend. www.google.com
I'm feeling generous however, so here they are http://www.pcgameshardware.com/aid,657567/Geforce-9400-GT-reviewed/Reviews/

GPU Core: 550 MHz
Shaders: 16 SPUs running at 1350 MHz
RAM: 64 bit 400 MHz (800 MHz DDR)

55nm fab, and no 6 pin connector.
Happy? ;)

And for the OP; it may be a rubbish card, but if you're not gaming much on it then it should be fine for whatever you're doing. Honestly though, you could have gotten a better card.

lol I need to get fire hose in here! I'm sorry you had to pick this forum filled with gaymers to tell you how bad your card is. Next time state what your use is and you'll get better answers. I think that card is fine for watching movies and general desktop use. It seems pretty decent for what's available and for what you have to spend.

He's right, prices for low end cards are stupid in Canada right now, here's the cheapest 9500gt I could find: http://www.ncix.com/products/index.php?sku=35554&vpn=EN9500GT MAGIC/DI/512M&manufacture=ASUS and the cheapest 9600GT I could find : http://www.ncix.com/products/index.php?sku=28811&vpn=EN9600GT/HTDI/512M/A&manufacture=ASUS although the 9600 would serve him best. Prices in can of course. Edit: darn, they already removed the rebate for the 9600gt, jeez, we pay a lot for video cards up here... my gtx280 still runs for close to 500can.
