Alright so I decided that since i built my new pc, that i would let my friend have my old pc.
well he got a new case, and HDD and i gave him the cpu, mobo, gpu, psu, and RAM.
1.ASUS A8N-SLI deluxe
2.AMD 3800 X2
3.BFG 7900 GTX
4.600 watt OKIA PSU
5.2gb ddr400 G skill (2-3-2-5)

So i went through and installed Windows Vista 86x Ultimate for it. So far no problems. I finished building it and had it running a couple of times for about 10-20 min each. He took the pc abck to his house to set up and he hooked it up to his monitor. About 15 minutes in he told me that the screen just went black. So i brought it back to my house and started troubleshooting. Initially i thought either the cables came loose, the GPU Failed, or the PSU failed.

I checked it with the following ways and still cant figure out whats wrong.
1. Changed out the PSU with XION 600 watt- black screen
2. Changed out GPU - black screen
3. Reset CMOS - black screen
4. took out backup battery - black screen
5. attached a speaker to the mobo to listen for beeps - no beeps
6. let the pc run and hooked up headphones to see if it was running in the background with no video - there was no audio

Im thinking that the motherboard is shot. When i was installing the mobo the motherboard was shorting out and when i started it up a small amount of smoke came from somewhere and smelled like a capacitor blew. Ive checked the mobo and their are no blown capacitors, solder joints, or burnt circuits. I then reinstalled the mobo and everything worked fine while running it for more than 30 minutes.

Take out a peice of RAM, have only 1 to see if that posts...
Aswell, check to see if all CAPs on the mobo are fine

possibly a grounding issue when you mounted the mobo inside the case? maybe take it out of the case and put and post it on your desk (Use your motherboard box)
