Maybe your case is causing shorts.

that is possible. that is what happened with my old case. some how the case would bend alittle when i put a heavy PSU in and would short the board out. Didn't find out till had 4 PSUs die on me and random problems. then i looked into it more and found out what was going on... so something you least expect can be the problem

If you changed everything...

Try another case, or the MOBO on a piece of cardboard.

It could be also faulty wiring in your home/office, but to know that you will need a qualified electrician.:ohwell:

No way. His PSU is plenty sufficient even with his system overclocked to the hilt. Not a chance it's the PSU(s). My mere 620 watt PSU can run my E8600 @ 4.7ghz, GTX260 700/1200, 4gb's DDR2 @ 1200mhz, four HDD's, fans, lights, water cooling etc. It is not his PSU.

Sure 650 watt will be enough but why has he changed 2 of them and it still does it.
I think you missed that Erocker (don`t get wrong I`m not trying to argue ) it could also be something like a standoff or a screw in the case.Only way for him to do is try 2 things

1,Change PSU to 700 watt .....Sure 650 is enough but might not have his 12v at over 11.90 (most I see are at 11.84-80) witch is bad for amps.
2,run the whole system out of the case ,try placing it on top of the motherboard box or Corn Flakes box ....

If it still does it out of the case then i would say the power phase on the motherboard is going, witch is my last thing in my mind because it is the worst case.

Sounds like a fugly Nvidia chipset + memory problem.

If you haven't already;

Loosen the timings on the memory (either kit) to 5-5-5-18-2T, 800MHz, and run 'em at 1.8v.

Worth a shot...

If everything has been changed out, then it's time to try some stability factors. There's a lot of things that can be adjusted...

Change timings on your ram to 5-5-5-18
Increase voltages one tick across the board.
Underclock CPU/GPU
Disconnect all unneccesary devices

Come to think of it, have you tried running it nekkid? Your front USB/audio, or even power/reset switches might be faulty. I notice all the different hardware, but the same case each time as well?

Ok, here is what I was able to do. I was able to lower the timings down to 5-5-5-14-2t. I tried 5-5-5-15-2t because 15 is apparently as far as this mobo will go, but it wasn't stable after boot. Also, I've been messing around for about an hour and a half now, and it doesn't seem like I can change the RAM voltage on my mobo. It just says "Minimum 1.8v, Maximum 2.20v" I just checked, and I do have the latest bios. Just for the hell of it, i tried an 800w dual rail PSU, and that didn't seem to make a difference. I also tried running the machine "nekkid" and surprisingly enough, my temperature averages went up by about 1.5c, I gotta say that coolermaster case is awesome. Anyway, yeah, still no difference. The most aggravating part about this, is that its completely random. There is no rhyme or reason for it. And that randomness makes testing a hit or miss.

If it was shorts, would have to be something periodically touching the case. Like a shaved cable in the wind. But I have never seen a cable move from case fans.

Yeah, and I know none of my cables are doing that. All of the cables are routed behind the mobo none of them even come close to touching anything that they aren't connected to.

Ok, I've tried everyone's suggestions. Still freezing. I think I'm just going to pull out the GTX 260, and the hard drives.... Then shoot the thing.

Check the underside of your MOBO, maybe some soldering lead it's sticking out too far, thus creating a minor short...

Hope this helps.

Yeah, I did that too. I tried running with the mobo on cardboard, didn't make a difference. Thanks anyway for the suggestion though. :ohwell:

Well, i believe your last resort would be using a line conditioner for your pc equipment, i have seen that a lot of noise and spikes in your electricity can cause random and funny acting of your pc... i live in Mexico, so these line conditioners are mandatory, at my parents house, the volts fluctuate anywhere from 90 to 123 volts, aside from that, i'm out of ideas...:banghead:

Yeah, I've kept that in mind too. My surge protector has a line conditioner built in. Well all, months and months of frustration, and weeks of bad tech support, heres the story. As it turns out, my mobo is 45nm compatible. Sweet. But, not so much. Apparently 45nm compatability means everything but the e8xxx series of intel processors. So I told the tech support rep that I also tried the intel e7200. And the response was "those don't work either" Sooooo, what 45nm support they are reffering to? I have no idea. Either way, the worst part about all of this is, both are now malfunctioning. I tried my e8400 in a friends mobo, and it locked up just the same. I tried his core duo quad on my mobo, and still locked up. So, due to my mobo manufacturer advertising one thing on the box, and not actually meaning any of it, I have managed to lose a motherboard, processor, and about 8 months of my life. $350 out the window. Awesome.

Sorry to hear that problem, at least it gives a heads up about the manufacturer advertising (MSI i believe).

Doesn't support any 45nm according to the motherboard CPU support list :ohwell:
http://global.msi.com.tw/index.php?func=prodcpu2&prod_no=1168&maincat_no=1#menu

Anyways, if it wouldn't be supported then it should work at all. You computer starts and can work for hours, so don't think that's the issue.

Seeing as you've changed every component, it would kinda seem that they are just fine. Antec Sonata cases for example have a metal plate in the front that shut down the computer with static electricity, so I'd double check the case too.

I'm just starting to think that your surge protector is bad. Wouldn't matter what you put after it. That should be fairly easy to test, take it off the loop or stick another computer after it that works or take it to a friend place that has a stable system.

I feel your pain my friend. I feel your pain. :(

I feel your pain too :( It's just awful when you have a problem and no clue what's causing it or how to fix it. Hope you get it working.
