Which cooler 4 my poor 4850???

I decided to cool my poor 4850 that boils on 781/1150 @ 85+degrees and i am between these coolers:

Zalman Z-Machine GV1000 @ 32 EUROS

ARCTIC COOLING ACCELERO S1 REV.2 +ARCTIC COOLING TURBO MODULE @ 26 EUROS

ARCTIC COOLING ACCELERO TWIN TURBO (which is actually the same as above@the same price)

THERMALTAKE DUORB AX @ 26 euros

In addition 4 every cooler that does not inclyde,i have to buy >>THERMALTAKE CL-C0025 VGA RAM HEATSINK BGA 2 COPPER<< @6 euros.

So which one would u recomend for my card?Keep in mind that it runs @1,34volt core/2,36volts mem..!!!

I will be watching this thread, as my 4850 almost does that badly by temps... I was gonna get an Accelero S1 for myself, but I raised the fan speed to 55% and it went down to 50C. Pretty good.

I think the AC twin turbo would be slightly superior to the S1. If it;s the same price then I would get that one.

The 85+ is for furmark!!On games hardly going 70+...But its soooo loud i cant stand it!!
So u guys think the twin turbo over the S1+the coolers is best?I will also have to buy those thermaltake heatsinks + VR heatsink 4 3 euros...Price coming up.... :cool:

They both will perform good, hell, my little VF900 keeps mine in the low 50's while being quiet.

The fan does sound like a tornado, it is horrible. A thing I did to help was reseat the cooler... It was on wrong, it might help in the meanwhile.

Thanks but i have already reinstalled the cooler a dozen times!

Adding AS5 as i did...Didnt help much,only 2-3 degrees drop.Try disassembling the hole cooler though!!U ll be surprised to find Tons of fur(!) blocking the air through the fins!!That deffinately improves airflow!
I think i will go for the S1+TURBO MODULE because it gives u the opportunity to use any fan u want and not only the onboard as the TWIN TURBO does!

I am only worried about the VR heatsinks but i think i can spent 3 more euros for these...

I have zalman VF900s on my 4850s, which are overvolted via bios mod, and they never go past 58*C .

Bios volt mod isnt an issue...The pencil mod (that i use) or the hard mod require the greater cooling.Over 1.3volts the core heats up A LOOOOOOOOOT!!!

I fitted mine with a zalman vf-900, it lowered the temps from 95c under load to 62c

Just remember to cool the vrm's, i did this by sawing off the tail of the stock cooler, heres the link: http://forums.techpowerup.com/showthread.php?t=80656

Very nice job on cutting the VR sink from the stock,but i d rather keep the cooler intact because,the card (that costed 209 euros and was replacing a perposefully bad misflashed 3870

) will certainly go for RMA on july due to overheat

D) and get replaced BY an 209 EUROS worthy VGA!!!So i will need the stock cooler intact.But i think i will buy a zlman 3850 heatsink for 2,99 and i think it will perform better.Dont u think?

I can't advise on the 3850 zalman cooler, as i never seen one of those... but for the price, i think it's worth the try.

Yep, Accelero S1 rev2 here and its great. Cools mine passively the same as the stock Asus "Glacier" HSF. I strapped a 120m on it and has a hard time getting 56C. It does take up lots of real estate but worth it since I dont do x fire.

If its not much more then the Twin turbo would be my choice

The stock heatsink and cooler works very well with the new CCC. Fan can be adjusted. Granted most stock fans are very noisey but they work well.

Also important to have a case that allows alot air flow.

The stock gives me 85+ @12000rpm!!!So i dont think it does a good job!
I ll be going for the S1 in the next days.Wait 4 me to test it since @ 1,34 core it will be very interesting what temps i get and how far i can still push the poor chip! :laugh:

Mine keeps mine relatively cool.

Of course I don't have the crazy OC that you have on your HD4850. Looking forward to seeing what kind of temps you get.
