Hey guy new member well let me just get too the point here got a sapphire hd4850 the dual slot cooler one back in september and every thing was gud so about 2 month ago every 2 day i would get green artifacts vpu recovery would kick in screen would rest and i played on usaly in gta iv and grid then it became more freqent and in more games so i install newer drivers dident fix it checked the temps (btw had the fan on 100% since i got it ) but never over 76c so then must be the psu , change that and still so 5 days ago it started that i couldent do any 3d or it would artifact green or purple blocks and then loop vpu recovery till it ether hardlocked the pc reset it or i stoped the 3d well rma'd the card 2 day btw havent even oc'ed the card yet just wanted to hear ur thoughts on this and if anybody els had the same prob ? Btw have read that the hd48xx series has been having high failure rates is this true ?

Definitely sounds like a defective card, hope you get a better one this time 
So i got my card back today and geuss what sapphire tells met they tested it for 3 days and dident find a thing wrong with it , so i reinstalled windows it lessed the crashing but it still happens ... Any ideas cuse im stumped only thing left is replacing the mobo .
