Will the Gigabyte 3d galaxy 2 work with a Phenom?

Just what the tittle says. I'm looking to pick up this cooler and will be used on a 9750 95w Phenom.

Yeah its weird. States something about Core 2 Quads also, which at the time of release of those quads they were 65nm.

it will work... same socket same mounting same size of IHS so should be just fine BUT MAY run abit hotter then expected

Yah it would but i myself personally wouldnt buy it. I'd peice together my own w/c kit.

I'm actually getting it from a friend for $40 this will be my first so once i get my water cooling cherry popped ill add on from there if it goes well

Yeah, that would be more than worthwhile then. Your getting a good deal on it.

Yeah thats what I thought I should have it thursday ill post some screenies when i get it up. only problem is that i wont have any coolant and i read reviews that the 2 metals can cause problems will it be safe to use boiled water

Buy a gallon of distilled water. I think it's like $3 a jug. As far as the metals, I think as long as you dont run the loop 24/7, you will be ok.

+1 distilled water
if you have any coolant for a car then you can mix some of it in with the distilled water and problem solved
use the mix 90% distilled water 10% coolant

yes 2 metals CAN and WILL cause problems if you run JUST distilled water. That is why it is a MUST to have a mix.(there are other reasons to not just run distilled water but nothing to do with the subject of metals)

Thank you I thought of this to but was'nt sure if it would be a good idea.So the coolant should help with the metal conflict?Oh one more question,if i need more tubing can i just use the el-cheapo stuff at my local hardware store or is it a special type i need?Thanks for all your guys help

yes it will help with the metal problem. You can use the cheap stuff at the hardware store if you need more tube. Its what i used when i had my short water cooling adventurer. just make sure its the same Inside diameter and you will have no problems

distilled water 75 cents a jug at walmart. Its the steam off boiled water.

Ya, umm some of you seem to be forgetting is this would be a mixed metal loop and will REQUIRE some kind of anti-corrosive. The easiest thing to use and engine coolant mixed with distilled.

Not running the loop 24/7 will not slow corrosion in the least.

As mentioned by an earlier poster, 90% distilled water and 10% radiator fluid.
