LOL Exact same position as you my friend. If I had your hardware I wouldn't upgrade tho.
All I have is a good cpu. You have allot of good hardware, as tempting as the i7 seems. The only reason I want to go to i7 is because in the future I think I will regret updating all my system just so I can play games for another 9 months or so. When really I can go i7 and I know it will last me a long time.
I would wait until at least the i5 is out because your hardware is far from out of date.
And if you aren’t bothered about that then go i7 because it sounds like you have the "Me Loves New Hardware" Disease that allot of us already have.

Well it plays any game fine and I can afford the upgrade yes. I will be taking pictures tomorrow of my Samsung SyncMaster 245B 24" and Antec 1200 ready to sell (Just to let you know, anyones interested in either?)If you decide to upgrade I want yer CPU.

I don't see the need to upgrade with what you have. If I were you i would just wait, let prices drop, then buy... sure you have the money now... but why spend the extra cash if you don't need to?

Depends what you do with the system, but i would personally stick with the system you already gots.

I doubt you would see any noticeable performance gains by upgrading to i7. Your current setup is pretty good. The only benefit I can think of by upgrading is that your benches will go up. But not by much.
