Apparent graphics card issue

Hello everyone its been awhile I know this but im having problems with a progra I am using on Vista and apparently according to my teacher it is a problem being caused by the settings of my graphics card. Here is the problem I am having. I have had a free Academic version of SolidEDGE Version 16 for awnhile now. This supposed graphics anomaly is finally getting on my nerves and that was when I asked my teacher about it finally. Again she finally decided it was a graphics card issue and consulted with her IT department and what she told them apparently they agreed that it was a graphics card issue as well.What is happening is when I start to draw lines or a square or even a circle inside of SOlidEDGE all sorts of gray boxes surround the actual object I am drawing so I cant see the actual size of the object until after I decide the distance and click to place the line, circle, square, etc. She gave me a link http://www.plm.automation.siemens.c.../solidedge/overview/system_requirements.shtml

According to the link I need to be using either Windows Vista Enterprise or Windows Vista Business but While I have neither one other friends of mine in the class can run their copy of SolidEDGE on their laptops that also have Windows Vista Home Premium on them, and dont have the same kind of problems that I have. Im not sure precisely how I am going to change the settings of my graphics card to make these gray boxes disappear since there are so many options and I still have no way of knowing after I change a setting on the graphics card if I set it the right way by way of checking the program by opening a new program or even by restarting the laptop each time I am not sure which way is the right way to check or if there is only one way to check. Moving on I wish I could take a photo of the gray boxes easier but it is next to impossible for me to do it.

NOW IMAGINE AS I AM DRAWING ONE OF THESE HERE LINES UP ABOVE A GRAY BOX COMPLETELY COVERS THE GIVEN LINE I AM DRAWING UNTIL I CLICK THE MOUSE AGAIN AND END THE CURRENT COMMAND BEFORE IT APPEARS TO BE NORMAL THAT IS THE PROBLEM I AM HAVING.

Now does anyone have any ideas as to how I fix this?

Do I need to change something from in here? if so what should I change and again what would be the best way to check if it worked or not while not taking alot of time?
I apologize for this long thread and lack of visual information I will try to give you more if you ask for certain things to visually see.

Witch version of Nvidia drivers are you using?
I asume you are using the card under your spec? NVIDIA GEForce Go 7600 256 MB

Go ahead smack me please because I have no idea and have no idea how to check either

But yes I am using the graphics card that is under my system specs right now

Also I do need to change my specs to show that I now have 2 GB of memory on my laptop as well though

hmm... don't have that trouble on Vista Home Premium with my HD4850. So... its an Nvidia issue from the looks of it.

Luckilly I had my harddrive recently erased after I sent it in to HP for some repairs (I backed everything up on a portable harddrive so I didnt lose anything man) So I shouldnt have to reinstall vista should I?

Re-installing Vista is not going to help you .. just try updating the drivers (un-install the old ones first would be a good idea, then re-boot and install the newer ones)

Again that may not contain certified drivers in it but also you have to remember that other friends of mine in school with Windows Vista Home premium are not having the same problems that I am.

I know...I would agree in the fact, that it has nothing to do with Vista Home Premium - it is most likely something with the Nvidia drivers

save the file in a location where you can find it again - then go to your Control Panel and use "Programs and Functions" (I think it has that name, but I am not sure, as my Vista version is Danish)
Then un-install the Nvidia drivers - re-boot and find the newly downloaded Nvidia drivers and install them

someones walking me through the steps right now to finish installing this graphics update software hang on a little bit longer im almost there then we will see if that fixes this problem or not.

Ok we have gotten it completely updated now but its still doing the same problem with the program I discussed at the beginning of the thread

I have indeed tried that both ways and it still does not work correctly. I dont know what else to do. Sorry for the late reply though again schoolwork does come first

have you got uac turned off ?? it was recommended in the link you put up
other than that you could try updating solidedge

thtas simply for when you are installing the program and again the only way for me to update this solidedge program would be for me to PURCHASE A NEWER program of SOLIDEDGE.
This is a free academic version of SOLIDEDGE that they are letting me keep for free for the rest of my life theoretically. I cant afford to spend money on a newer program of SOLIDEDGE
