I guess May 10th Optimum Online will offer 101mbps Broadband, the fastest available residential internet. Only $100 a month too, that's not bad at all!

both are planned to be done at the same time. crank up the bandwidth, to counter the slowdown of the failwall.

Failwall will not succeed... a few ISP's have tested it and found it useless. 70% slowdown in throughput, 100ms addition to ping, legit sites blocked, porn ones not.

IMO its utterly useless... by stopping a few methods of SEEING the porn, they arent doing anything to save the kids who are used in it. they need to stop the stuff being made, not useless attempts to stop people seeing it over HTTP (and that is all the failwall blocks, HTTP. doesnt stop torrents or anything)

100mb me want.. but for the fiber in Australia, as far as im aware it excludes country Australia . which is everyone with crap net already. so the slow stay slow, and the fast get faster

as for the firewall the Aus government is wanting to set up, my isp has enabled it for a 5 day trial to see how much it effects services because of its cost to set up and run, so it will be interesting to to new net connection prices raise through the roof, and also i can see small isp's going broke.. they just don't realize you cant stop the pirates and ninjas of the world

I pay 69.99 for my 10mbps down, 1.0mpbs up and basic cable through Charter (yeah the bankruptcy place) I think to go to 20mpbs its like 10 to 20 bucks more. However, out of this 10mpbs, I get to use about all of it with no cap.

Id love to have 101mbps connection though. 99.99 isnt bad, but if the koreans, chinese and english folks get it for a fraction of that, we should too.
