Corsair, a worldwide leader in high-performance computer and flash memory products, today announced a new 16GB high-performance "GT" Flash Voyager USB drive. The new MLC-based Corsair 16GB Flash Voyager GT has been designed to deliver best-in-class performance for a high-capacity USB flash drive.

"People expect Corsair to deliver the highest performing products," said Jim Carlton, VP of Marketing at Corsair. "That's why our latest Flash Voyager GT offers both higher speeds and higher capacities than standard USB drives, making them ideal for discerning customers for whom high performance is a key criteria" added Carlton.

The new 16GB Flash Voyager GT uses specially-selected, hand-screened MLC NAND flash memory in a dual-channel configuration, combined with a high-speed controller IC to deliver rapid data reading and writing speeds significantly faster than most USB flash drives. Whether you're backing up data or transporting office files, pictures, music or even full-length movies, you can "store-and-go" faster with the 16GB Corsair Flash Voyager GT.

The new 16GB Flash Voyager GT also utilizes Corsair's proprietary water- and shock-resistant, all-rubber casing so that users with busy and active lifestyles can be confident that their data is secure and protected from damage. Independent reviews of Flash Voyager products have demonstrated their ruggedness, durability, and reliability. Flash Voyager drives have been laundered, baked, frozen, boiled, dropped, and even run over by a SUV! After all the punishment they receive the drives continue to work.

Corsair also announced today that it is expanding its best-selling Flash Voyager Mini product family with a new 16GB model. The increased capacity is possible due to the latest Chip-on-board technology, which allows for a huge number of movies, music, photos and personal documents to be stored in a format that's 1/3 the size of typical USB Flash drives.

The Flash Voyager Mini utilizes a cap-less retractable USB connector, which easily opens with the flick of the thumb, and its ergonomic rubberized housing makes it easy to connect and disconnect from any computer. The rubberized housing is also durable, making it an ideal flash drive for users with busy and active lifestyles.

"The 16GB Voyager Mini offers an outrageous amount of storage in a format that's both ultra-compact and rugged," stated John Beekley, VP of Applications at Corsair. "The 16GB Flash Voyager Mini is the perfect synergy of size looks and function."

Both the 16GB Flash Voyager GT and the 16GB Flash Voyager Mini are available immediately from Corsair's authorized distributors and resellers worldwide. All Corsair flash products are backed by a 10-year Limited Warranty. Complete customer support via telephone, email, forum and Tech Support Xpress is also available. ZOMG! 16GB! thats enormous! :O

One might even say "an outrageous amount of storage"

I may have to save this article on my 32GB Transcend V60 to show all my friends... Oh wait...

No seriously... All that impact protection, and dual channel stuff is nice, but next time corsair, if you cant advance on existing capacity, lets at least include the read/write MB/s to impress us rather than just claiming "fassssst" ?

I might consider a smaller drive if it was plenty fast - These are nice drives overall.

Yeah just got a 4GB one free with my v card and it's much better than my aging 1GB Voyager.

I like the OCZ one more due to size as well as i often use the back USB ports and the Voyager does not fit right and feel like it's going break the USB port.

All so the Voyager cap sucks ass it starts falling of after a short while. All though i like the idea of it being rubber but they made it to bulky for my needs but still works today :p :).

I'm happy with my 4gb voyager, still working, and is fast. Do agree that the shape could be improved apoun and the cap given something to keep it with the drive. My cap still stays on no problem, and yes I do that sucky thing with it when I'm bored lol.
