New 275

I'm gonna return the EVGA 275 I have right now because it's borked beyond belief. I'm gonna get a new one as soon as I get a refund, I'm thinking this Zotac 275, it's clocked at 702mhz which is higher than the EVGA FTW version and it's not that much more than the stock clocked ones.

Damn I've had amazing luck with evga, bummer you didn't. IMO it's still not worth paying extra for the pre-oc even on the newer generation of GTX cards unless there's more to it like aftermarket cooling, improved pcb and voltage design. If it's a card that has pretty much a bios flash for higher clocks stuffed in a box and sold at a $50 price hike it aint worth what could be done in 10 seconds with a vanilla card imo.

I went through and compared all the GTX 275's on Newegg, trying to pick out the best one. The Zotac was the best, but how is their quality? I've never heard anything about them. If they make good things, I'll definitely get it. It doesn't say a single thing about their warranty on Newegg, and there are no reviews for it. It comes with GRID and the good version of 3DMark Vantage.

Zotac are pretty good. TPU has a lot of their stuff reviewed, even that specific OC'd AMP! one which I linked above.

4 different Windows installs(2 Vista 64, one XP32 and a 7x64 just for kicks), updated DX and runtimes on all, tried the 182 and 185 drivers and it did the same thing in all of the installs so I'm 100% sure it's messed up.

Borked Graphics Card: Terrible overclocker, possibly bad drivers, freezer, and can be considered an artifact processing unit. (I think)

Luckily for me my EVGA GTX 260 is running strong.

Always froze in 3d apps after 5-10 mins. Temps were fine. It's just a bad card.

It sounds like you just had a bad card as my Palit 275 is the best card i have had and works perfectly and was worth the money going from a 4850

Hd5800 will be good but there are no dx11 games on the horizon yet

Just RMA the card and stop putting blame to things. Manufacturer defects happen and has nothing to do with brand, manufacturer, where you bought it, what other brands there are, the weather or Obama.
