Do what Ford did many years ago, and buy a lot of farm land. Government wont let you plant anything, because they want the little people to produce the goods, but in return you will get a huge tax break.

If i recall correctly, in 2003 Ford payed 0% tax.

Thats not what i said.

China is not small, its an average size country.

And what does Israel has to offer that US doesnt? Besides lower taxes and lower wages?

Israeli ingenuity, of course!

It's phenomenal, dare I say unbelievable what Israel has been able to do in the short amount of time its existed. And its "High-Tech" market is what its most known for. Intel is so big in Israel because.. Israel is smart.

They are smart thanks to Western education and influence. Other wise they would still be living in stone age by the oil lamp.

Good for Intel and Israel. Need to get some up and coming countries in the world these days. GO ISRAEL!

I'll take that as a compliment on their behalf

But, Israel is not some middle-eastern up-and-coming country. They're EU certified ;)

Also, comparing Israel to Palestine in terms of computer technical engineers is like comparing the United States and Mexico.

How about creating thousand new jobs in US first rather then overseas?

US Taxes & the pay demands of Americans.

The US--We are our own problem.

You're trying to start a fight with me. You won't like me when I'm in it.

I've lived in Israel. "They" are smart because they are part of 'Western' education and the 'West' in all. They are truly the greatest people I've seen in all the 20 countries I've been in. They were smart before western influence, and the history is quite rich. In fact, many of the immigrants who came to Israel were Jews from Europe, thus already part of your so-called 'West'.

And I mean, dude.. I don't want to get out my giant flame assault rifle (also Israeli-made). They are not primitive! They BUILT this country from being in the stone age (because the arabs lived here), to a country just as good on any standard as any western country, particularly the United States (I should know - I live here), in under 50 years! The ONLY thing that OTHER 'Western' countries have given Israel is finance and weaponry, which they thank them whole-heartedly for.. So many wars has Israel had to fight for no reason and almost perished. Fortunately, the world is better and far less ignorant than you.

As i said before and ill say it again. Most if not all people in your country have received education from US or UK or some other European parts. With out it you would be living in the caves.

What has Israel produced and or invented on their own so the the rest of the world has used to benefit from? Not a thing.

Half if not most weapons came from other countries. Military jets that are in your military arsenal are stripped down versions from US or France.

So chill dude.

You'd think they would want to stay away from Israel, especially the border with Palestine. That's a high-risk area of the world and will remain that way for the foreseeable future. You'd think they'd go somewhere that is more stable politically.

Isrealis are a lot cleverer than you think, having to grow up fast is hard. From nothing to something in a generation, hell if that happened to Europe or America and the trend continued we'd all be living in space right now. Israel has come a long way in a short amount of time. This isn't taking sides with Israel on the Israel Vs Palastine. Both are as bad as each other in that respect. BUT THAT IS NOT TO BE DISCUSSED HERE!

Also, a big firm like this can help bring stability. If someone has a nice job, well paid, they are less likely to go commit a crime. In Israel, as with any country that is starting to blossom, a little extra money goes a long long way.

They could also lose a $2+ billion dollar facility to a terrorist attack. Investors would NOT be happy. Intel isn't a charity.

Well being a HUGE firm like they are you think they would be able to secure that $2billion dollar facility.

Well they better not build it right next door then. I mean common man! You think Intel INTEL, the company that makes computers more intelligent will build a multi billion dollar firm in an area that it could be blown up the minute it opened.

Give them a little credit!

If it was free or almost free, yes. Maybe that's what they are looking for here.

Remember, Israel really has no allies in their area. They're liable to be attacked by pretty much anyone and that includes full land/sea/air assaults. No where in Israel is safe if that's what it comes to. Think Six-Day War of 1967.

Pentium M cpus was engenered in Israel. if i recall core 2 is also.
Pentium M, Core, and Core 2 are direct spin offs of Pentium III which was engineered in USA. Effectively, they are just a Pentium III with Moore's law applied (8 years of transistor increases).

They should build it in United Arab Emirates, we don't have taxes here and we already have a few silicon factories.

I wonder when will the Middle East be interested in IT...

Most of the hardwares we have here are extremely expensive because they were shipped from the USA.

That makes very little sense. Moore's law mentions only transistor count. According to your claim every chip is just a single transistor with Moore's law applied to it. It's more than just an increased number of transistors, they have advanced instructions, more efficient design, etc.

Pentium 3 (Tualatin, 130nm) had 9.5 million transistors in 2001. According to Moore's law, transistor count, and thusly, processing power doubles every 18 months. Eight years is 96 months, divide that by 18 and you get performance/transistors doubling 5.33 times between then and now.

9.5 * 2 = 19
19 * 2 = 38
38 * 2 = 76
76 * 2 = 152
152 * 2 = 304
304 * (2 * 0.33) + 304 = 504.64

505 million transistors

Core 2 Quad has 582 million transistors. Moore wasn't off by much especially if you figure from the year 2000 instead of 2001 (Pentium IIIs were produced 1999-2001).

Core 2 Quad is also probably very close to 6 times the performance of a Pentium III Tualatin chip.

Moore's law says nothing about processing power, just transistor count. Besides, even if it was your statement makes no sense. AMD's chips are nothing more than P3's with Moore's law applied to them either then, though they don't share the same architecture at all.

Surely performance, memory size, storage capacity, etc are linked to it, but it's not what Moore said in the days.

The more transistors a processor has, the more powerful it is. It didn't come word for word from Moore's mouth but that connection is implied. Performance is the driving force for higher transistor counts.

All technology works on the same concept of Moore's law so yeah, AMD follows the same trends. Moore's law applies to digitization in general regardless of the label stuck on the outside or the type of product.

Architectures will only get you as far as your transistors will take you. If you double the number of transistors, you'll get about double the performance. You can get more performance by dedicating those transistors to a specific task but less capable also means less powerful. It ultimately balances out.

That's of course not true. A Pentium 4 is faster than an Atom, though the Atom has more transistors. Also, a chip at different clocks has different performance yet the same amount of transistors. More transistors means it's harder to have them work at high clocks as well. Those terahertz transistors really won't work with 100+ million brethren in a single chip. A simple XOR gate made of those terahertz transistors will be so much faster than your i7 at the only thing it can do. I'd say transistor count mostly affects complexity of a chip, not performance directly. Complex instruction could increase performance though, which all comes down to the design. So doubling the amount of transistors available increases flexibility and allows a more complex design which then could double performance, but this is in no way guaranteed. You could also double the amount of transistors by adding a load of cache which won't do much for the performance in most cases.

Either way, Core(2) are far more than just more transistors, their design is greatly improved.
