Beheaded Laptop

My old laptops (Acer Aspire 3050) screen died not long ago and was the final push to build my rig. After having it sit around for the past 4 or 5 months doing nothing I decided earlier tonight to remove the screen and have it set up with a monitor as a backup machine. Only question is can anything go drastically wrong with the screen now removed apart from having to rerun the wireless antenna?

Of course not, though what exactly is wrong with the screen? Fixing it might be worth an attempt as well.

The actual panel is fine its just the cable i suspect but i'm not worried about the portability issue as i have a netbook on the way. It does give out a high pitched squeal when booting that stops when windows login appears though.

a friend of mine (Luke) has a screenless laptop as one of his servers. he's never had an issue with it.
