While the Raven series was the only case with the unique layout up to this point, Silverstone has put the new guts not only into the Raven 2, but also into the Fortress 2 (FT02). It will come in black or silver at a price tag of around 200 US Dollars. Then there is the GD04, which is an affordable mATX HTPC case. The unique aspect is certainly the short depth of the chassis, so it should fit well into your A/V rack. The GD04 will sell for 99 US Dollars. The GD05 is similar, but features a plastic front, lined with a thin sheet of aluminum. This drives the price down to 79 US Dollars.

But there is more, Silverstone is also jumping into the ITX fray, offering a new case for this mainboard standard. The ML03 comes in black or silver and includes a 65W pico power supply. This means that there you can create a HTPC without any moving parts in it. The company is also showing off a few accessories. The TOB03 can hold a slim optical drive and has a hot-swap 2.5 inch bay, as well as two USB 3.0 connectors. The TS221 is a dual 2.5 inch enclosure, which supports RAID.

I think i like the first fortress better. Maybe cause im seeing it in silver?? and the top dosnt curve up like the bottom does (on the F1) Looks ok i just saw a 360 of the raven tho it went from ugly to hot and fortress is now meh for me. maybe the old f1 will come down in price then.

They have completely lost what makes the FT01 great IMO.

That FT02 is huge! Way too big to be used on/under a desk

I like the idea of them using stack, but surely there is a way of making not much deeper than a standard case

Couple of days ago I almost ordered the first Raven, but due to a few little inconveniences in its design decided to wait for the windowed version of the haf 922 to show up...

Now, if they tell me that the Raven2 fixes those oversights and has a windowed version, I'll know what I'll be getting.

Edit: oh, wait... it does have a nice, big window... it's just not on the side you'd expect...

YEAH!!!! fortess 01 i like because its a TRUE MID tower (no plastic parts outside to make it look like a full tower no addons and things just perfect, It only fits ATX (eatx if bend the metal back lol) and all the parts i like inside and NOTHING else . Its my top pick for next build and has been sitting on my everchanging wishlist the longest. Most mid towers out there arent mid towers they are mid towers Plus one or 2 or giant plastic all around. You always read the review: "it was bigger than i expected" (cause its NOT a midtower! lol). I do like that they finaly collapsed its insides over RAVEN 1 (HUGE!) to a much more efective efficient format but.... now its longer and ... looks the same size as the raven.... and that rounded top i dont like. The first one was SOOO sleek, perfect,TO THE POINT, and cool without trying too hard. Now the raven looks better than the fortress 2 and if i want that config i might as well get the raven right?? LOL! Like i said i hope fortress one continues production and the price drops for all cause my next build is soon and if i see raven 2 side by side with fortress 1 thall be the desision. Fortress 2 wont be at the "rose ceomony" based upon those pictures lol.

And if i wanted a mac looking case id just buy one (oh no you di'nt oh yes i did gurl) jk lol

I was going to be getting the FT-02 and keep my FT-01 for my folding farm, but then I realized that no matter how I orient the FT-02 it won't work on my desk due to opening the wrong way. And with how much I have the door off and fiddling, I need the ability to. Eh I agree though, I kinda wish it kept some of the style of the first more. I really like the way the front looks on the FT-01. The top should be rounded the same as the bottom. I like how they've solved some of the problems of the FT-01 though.
