Sometimes out of boredom I'll build a mid range Pc,Just to see how it performs and I'll give it to a family member as a gift lol!! or sell it on ebay. My wife thinks I should put that pile of junk om ebay now to get it out of the dinning room, I was thinking of adding a hd2400 or something and try to sell it fleebay for $150 or something

I sure do love my Newegg, It's like "Geek Crack" I just bought a Cheap $60 case and got a SATA dock for free,2 hours later i was made an offer on a pretty good keyboard for $50 so I said "yes" on AUG 4 IM buying that, I'm gonna hopefully get a 4650 from that ATI class action on AUG 29,well that's the decision day anyway. I'll be selling that junk pyle Pc on ebay so i can but a AM3 board, I f that goes well I'll be selling my daughter's pc by parts and giving her this pc, so i can finish the AM3 system in October-It suck's to be unemployed-but at least i still get paid

Sweet rig there craigleberry.
I just picked up my i7 rig last friday, I see that you are also in victoria just wondering where you picked up yours from.
I got an i7 975, asus rampage 2 extreme and 6 gig corsair dominator, also picked up a velicoraptor 300Gb and 2 1Tb WD hdd's. I got most of my stuff from Scorptec except for the cpu cooler which i got from pccasegear.
What temps are you getting from you 920 (is it a D0 stepping), have you tried to o/c it yet. I am @ 4ghz using 1.24v and getting prime load temps of 69-67-66-66 across the 4 cores with my prolimatech megahalems with 2 scythe fans in push pull.

Have not got the stuff yet only paid this morning so by the end of the week
I will be testing it providing nothing arrives DOA. I got my stuff from PCCG. I thought I would give them another try as they just could not be beat for the price thats even compared with the so called discount I get @ scorptech.

EDIT: I have asked the dudes @ PCCG to make sure they look at the sticker and ensure I ge a D0

BTW I see you have good taste in PC's nice setup you have there

I will see how I go with the temps , I may have to get a backplate for my lapped IFX14 and run that for cooling instead of the XIggy

I am not at home atm but i will charge up the camera and post some pics up for you tommorow craigleberry. Yeah the d0's o/c nice with lower temps and voltages than the c0 steppings. I'd say the ifx would be better than the xiggy especially if you have 2 or more fans on that one. I never tried the 975 under my older true 120 (which was lapped) I just wacked the megahalems on it with the same 2 scythe fans (1600rpm ones) as the 1900rpm fans that i brought for it made an annoying noise that i couldn't live with.
I have used PCCG alot in the past, Got my old QX9650 from them, they are a good company just I hate the fact that now everything has to be couried from them no more pick up.

Very clean install there craigleberry, I wish I could hide the cables in my case like that, but alas not to be with the tj-07, and all the fans etc I have in there.
So what temps are you getting under the xiggy, and what voltage do you use @ stock speeds. My 975 wanted 1.13v for the 3.33ghz stock speed, and was getting according to real temp ver 3 high 20's on the cores at idle and mid to high 40's on the cores under load. Overclocked to 4ghz using 1.2v (trying for lower) i get mid to low 30's and loads to 60/59/56/57 on the cores using prime 95 ver 25.11.
Also noticed in you system specs it says you have a 720Gb Hdd, who makes that one. I know WD have 640 and 808Gb drives just didn't know about a 720 one.

I have just jumped straight in and set voltage core to 1.30 volts but going by what you have posted above me bollo I might try for lower. OMG the hdd is a 750GB Samsung lol talk about a typo lol . I still have more cleaning up to do inside with the cables and that but it is looking pretty sexy I reckon. The cooler is a Xigmatek dark night worked good with my old E8500. I will give it a run and If I am not happy with the temps I will put my IFX-14 on there.

That was exactly what I did when i overclocked it. Set it to 1.3 volts and then changes the multi on mine (gotta love the extreme i7's) from the stock 25 to 30 to give me 4ghz. Since then I have been slowly reducing the volts till it gets unstable. But atm it is at 1.2volts in the bios which gives me 1.192v according to cpu-z and was 2hrs prime stable. The temps have dropped from high 60's across that cores to 60 and less now so I am happy. I would say that under the ifx your temps would be way better and you will get alot more out of it.
What timings do you patriots run at as my corsair is also ddr 1600 and runs timings of 8-8-8-24 at 1.65v.
