Well I finally got up enough to get a new powersupply but I can't decide which one to get.

Specs
Case - Antec 900 One
CPU - Phenom 9850 @ 3.0ghz
Motherboard - Gigabyte GA-MA790GP-UD4H
Video Card - 2xSapphire 4850's X-Fire 700/1200
Harddrives - 2 x 74.5gb Raptors RAID0,2 x 80gig Seagate 7200 RAID0, 1 750gig Seagate 7200
Ageia PhysX Card
Creative X-Fi Soundcard.

Ok. Now to decide. All i really need is a 750watt but the 850's are just a little bit and after the rebates it should not be much more.

Its true.....its sad.....but the A900 offers such good Air its still a damn good case and with a little modding can be turned into something amazing.

Its also the reason I got a modular PSU in the first place due to it being so bad for cable management. :)

as a silent PC user, its against everything i stand for :p
(big fans, open mesh, etc)

But anyway - modular corsair is a very good suggestion. toxirau should definately consider it.

I loved the airflow of the 900, for sure...my HDD and GPU temps went up with the HAF932. But overall the rest of the temps dropped a slight amount, but what was really nice was the fact I had somewhere to put all the damn cables from my PC P&C PSU. In the Antec 900, I had a 5.25 blank at the bottom then the fan bays...that way I could put the extras there. It was worth it till I got 3 HDD's, a non-modular PSU, and a larger vid card...then the 900 was a pain in the ass to work with. Still a good case if it can be had for around 70-80 bucks imo...but I'd rather go with the 300 for even less imo if I had to choose, at least the area behind the drive bays leaves plenty of room to stash extra cables.

Corsair HX520 is a great PSU, treated me great and runs my fiance's rig just fine, see my sys specs, it never hiccupped on either rig..I've had it since May 2007. Had to replace her iffy Antec PSU...so I got the PC P&C, which is an excellent PSU, but definately overkill.

Silent it why water is the best...pump noise can be avoided pretty easily.

I own both the A900 and A300 and both of them are hard to work on...though I do admit the A300 is easier to hide cables with....that being said, its still a pain in the ass.

You can mod it to take the 140mm fan from the top of the case and put it at the front while still using a 120mm there too.....moves even more air with less noise.

Okies.

Another good one to consider, has treated me great. But even a Corsair HX520 runs my rig just fine, so I have a healthy dose of overkill lol. Great PSU though!
I was looking at those but i think i would go with the crossfire over it for the fact of free shipping. Although i have always liked the PC P&C ones
All of them are good, but I wouldn't take any of them personally.

Why? Antec 900's are hard enough to work on already and none of the above PSU's are modular.

I'd take less overall wattage for modular connections due to the poor design of the A900:

That's very very true, What do you think of the OCZ ModXStream Pro series newegg is having a sale on them right now. I was thinking of this one or the next step up. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817341018

As we've said, we're all fans of corsair over OCZ - and i'm a pro OCZ guy.

From what i know of the modX's, they have loud fans.

Oh wow sweet. So now it's up between the OCZ and one of Mikes crosair 750's... Cheaper is better since i have a tuition payment coming up soon and I really don't need to spend 130+ on a powersupply.

As we've said, we're all fans of corsair over OCZ - and i'm a pro OCZ guy.

From what i know of the modX's, they have loud fans.
Loudness is not much of a issue since my whole set-up is aircooled and i have a 1st gen 4850 with the jetengine mounted on it... Also cable management might not be that much since i plan on hacking this thing up soon so that is has some freaking cable management.

I own a the 600w ModXStream and the fan isn't loud at all, very quiet even under full load..its got an 140mm fan not the standard 120mm. :)

That being said, I wouldn't get it over the Corsair as its not as good quality.

Corsair + modular = win. :toast:

OCZ had a generation of bad fans - they certainly got better after lots of people complained about noise/fan failures, but its tricky to tell which ones have the bad fans without knowing someone with that exact model. From memory, the modular ones were slower to get 'upgraded' with better fans. (i assume all the 140mm models are newer, and therefore trouble free - this was 80mm/120mm fans i'm talking about)

I have an OCZ 600W Mod X Stream and its been great. The 140mm fan on it is nearly silent. But I'm still a Corsair fan too and would have bought a Corsair had the OCZ not been a great deal for a modular supply at the time I needed one.
