Germany feels a deep shame for the Nazi holocaust is normal that they do not want no absolute reference.
Its not normal. its absolutely fkn ridiculous. My girlfriend is German and so I am by now very used to the German character trait of forcefully repressing matters or issues that they dont feel good about looking at or dealing with. The German response to all things 'Nazi' is just another example of this trait.
I watched recently Monty Pythons 'Holy Grail' in german recently and was astounded that the German dubbed version is called 'Der Ritter des Kokosnusses'. The Knights of the Coconut!
I am like, eh? wot the fuck? But then I realised, Himmler and his SS were absolutely bonkers about being the 'Teutonic Knights' on the hunt for the 'Holy Grail' of pure Aryan blood.
Another example is from the Wolfenstein German Language patch I installed whereby the Nazi's are called the 'Wolves' throughout the game instead of, you guessed it, 'The Nazi's'.
On a subject away from WW2 and/or Nazism, if my girlfriend asks me for example how I feel about some banal matter or another, and my answer is not to her liking, she will fall out with me over it, suggesting that I ought not voice such opinions if I know they may make her feel uncomfortable about something she would rather feel no problems with.
What sort of way is this to deal with anything in life? I would wager that it is such cultural tension and repression of the individual that led the Germans to being such an explosive uptight bunch of bstrds in the first place that facilitated Germany's nationalism to take an extreme form in way unseen in any other nation (except Japan, but same theory applies there as well *10).
Is Valkyrie anygood? (no spoilers please lol)
No, its a tragic pile of lame $hite.
No spoilers but:
Good guy Germans = American Accents
Good Guy but Cowardly Germans = English accents.
and, you guessed it
Evil Dastardly Fanantical Nazi Germans = Camp Hollywood German Accents.
The film really is that bad.
