Is the RC version of Windows Seven just as good as the RTM/RC version?

RTM is basically the Retail version but there really isn't much that is different between the RC and RTM besides the watermark on the RC. So, to answer your question...yes.

There is pretty much no difference. I had 7 Ultimate RC and got 7 Pro, no difference really besides it being a different version. Might be a little more stable, but I just installed it a week ago, haven't been able to try it out long enough yet.

Release Candidate is not the same as Release To Manufacturer. The RC build predates the RTM build. RTM is the official release and is the same as the Volume License version. The Retail version doesn't add anything to the bundle; it's just packaged differently.

FYI - Starting on March 1, 2010, the RC version will shut down every 2 hours. Come June 1, it won't boot at all.

The RTM version is better than the RC, because it's the final polished code.

I was running the RC and switched to the RTM when I got the TechNet sub and can tell you that it runs that much better.
