Keeping up closely with its recent release of the Balder SD1213 CPU cooler, Xigmatek also introduced the Bifrost VD1065 VGA cooler. The Bifrost is a twin-fan aluminum fins based GPU cooler, that makes use of the company's popular Heat-pipe Direct Touch feature. The fairly-simple construction of this cooler includes a GPU contact block with mount-hole spacings of 43 mm, 53 mm, and 51 mm, to maintain a board list of compatibility. Here, five nickel-plated copper heat-pipes make direct contact with the GPU. These then convey heat to the cooler's aluminum fin array, which is cooled by two 100 mm ball-bearing fans that spin at speeds of around 2,000 rpm, with a noise-level of 20 dBA.

The Xigmatek Bifrost VD1065 is compatible with most current single-GPU graphics cards, including Radeon HD 2000/3000/4000 series, NVIDIA GeForce 8-series, 9-series, GTS 200, and GTX 200 series. It is expected to arrive in stores soon, priced at 36.90 EUR.

I do like! I don't see why it wouldn't be compatable with 5xxx series, though it's not listed. If those blades were orange to match their case fans it would look really sexy.

That's nice.

It not make much sense if they'd not make it compatible with the 5series cards.

Hopefully it is : ]

If mount holes are the same I don't see why not.

Cypress has 53 mm mount-holes. Go ahead and use this. The problem however, is its tiny VRM chips. Single-piece MOSFET heatsinks are sometimes too heavy and yet inefficient for them. The VRM chips on graphics cards with digital-PWM are in theory hotter than a single-FETs because each chip packs both up and down FETs, and the driver IC into a single package.

Why not use just the usual saw the damn 58xx half method and blow cold air in the stock fan case with middle case fan I wonder. I mean it's copper pipes anyway so in GeForce as well as in radeons.

Of course minus is you can say goodbye to the warranties, but for working card for 100% sure to keep it cool used this many times makes -20c on stock Geforce 9800 GTX.

I don't know, HDT might work well for chips with heatspreaders where all heatpipes are directly touching a hot surface but for flipchip GPUs there might only be a few of the heatpipes touching the hot GPU surface. If this gets tested please try it on a flipchip GPU.

Yeah, I don't buy that sound rating for a moment. I've tried quite a number of fans and the hugely overwhelming factor in general noise level is RPM and 2000 RPM is not quiet, especially not in 80mm.

This is SilenX IXG-80HA2 with black pipes and bigger fans. http://www.silenx.com/ixtremaproheatsinks.asp?sku=ixg-80ha2

Mounts to the inner holes of GT200 card, it's for the GPU brace, not for cooler and not every card has those.

Haven't done so great with 3x80mm fans it had originally on reviews. Here's one: http://www.pcgameshardware.com/aid,...d-Silenx-Noiseless-GPU-Cooler/Reviews/?page=3

Don't know what Xigmatek includes from the original accessory.

Good Eyes, I was wondering when someone was going to realize its been done before.

Hehe, read too many review on GT200 coolers, not to know them by heart, even in disguise :p

Plenty of reviews on the net of the SilenX cooler, read them before you buy. It's not that great for every card and the heatpipes go over the top memory than can cause issues.

Still looks better than original, fans already attached and will be widely available.

Will it work with the new HD 5800 series?? Anyone know?? Not that I need one as the standard cooler is well up to the task, and doesnt even sound like the leafblowers that use to sit on ATI cards? But would be nice to get temps down and maybe higher OC´s on the card? Now with the standard cooler with standard fan profile its load temps are around 72-75c average. Depends on what game you play. But never seen it go over 80c. And that is good, for an ati cooler. :)

Getting ready to test it. Main change over the original is of course the coating, but they did nip the tips off the tops of the fins. I will let you know ASAP.

@ Haze, the list is pretty sort for supported GPU's

Just use the metal place from the stock cooler. it's all i do and works a treat.

If i got it i'd rip those 100mm fans off it and put better ones on it for sure.

All though i got mine running 1k\1050 @ around GPU 65c and VRMs 85c max ( room temp 22c).. I still like to try this one though haha.

The 120 mm fan spins at speeds between 1000 ~ 2200 rpm, with a maximum noise output of 28 dBA.

So a extra 8db for 200RPM lol ?. Or is it just a typo ?.

And according to there site it's
