Like I said, I am using an ASUS P5KPL-AM SE which has the chipset G31. I want to know if this chipset can support this kind of CPU. My old P5GZ-MX could support Core 2 Duo but only at 800 Mhz of FSB max due to the chipset limitation. Thanks for the supports.

you could always check the asus website to see for yourself.
the model you listed doesnt exist, on the asus website. there is an -AM model and an SE model, but no product exists called -AM SE (i can see this model listed elsewhere on the internet, however)
assuming its the -AM model
you can simply click the "CPU support" button and see that as long as the BIOS is up to date, it supports the entire core 2 quad lineup.

Those AM SE board are the kind of cheap Asus boards only found in mainland China.
They are as "great" as Asrock/ECS boards.
The only C2Q it support is the old Kentsfield.

if its a chinese model i wont be able to find the specs, as they'll only be in chinese.

My girlfriend bought herself a P5KPL-AM and that has full support for C2Qs up to 1600MHz FSB. Good little board considering it's a G31 chipset.
Yeah. But from what I know, that kind of CPU can have that FSB only by overclocking. The mobo support the following FSB by default: 533, 667, 1066 and 1333.
