yes... hit alt+enter... and then hit alt+enter again and it will go away. Driver bug. Just need to reset the window and then its good for the rest of the game... does it every time you close out then re-enter.

its already in the nv forums - have you tried 182.42 drivers? But you can email them, their tech will mail you back within 24hours telling you to reinstall drivers :p.

EDIT: oh damn the forums are down :banghead:... email them. And you're right... that is definitely not SLI related - i thought you meant just shadow flickering (but staying in the same place)... that is some hardcore shadows going beserk going on there.

What drivers are you using?

Hum I don't see the nvidia email directly on their web site. I only see the driver feedback page (I have already submitted the bug there but no go... )
Can you point me out to the right email?

Im on the latest beta. 195.39 but this prob is happening on all official and beta release compatible with the GTX 295 since its release.

Edit: I reported an incident using the customers care thing. They will have no choice to answer so ill wait and see.

well that sucks... its all automated, and you will not be able to send them an email directly... you have to go and register in the user forums, and then request personal assistance.

Since the forums are down until tomorrow, that will be impossible. But here is the email

nvidia@mailca.custhelp.com

I don't know if they will respond to you if you did not go through their protocol but it is worth a shot.

:toast:

For the customer care thing, they will send you an automated email in like 8 hours with the most generic bullsh*t suggestions, and then a tech will email you a day or so later (at least what apened to me lol).

That's a game issue, not an issue with your GPU. Have you ever heard of dynamic lighting?

Yes I know what it is but the problem I mention is not happening on ATI card ( I tested). and setting shadow to minimum clear the issue, but there is no shadow :/

What do you mean there's no shadow? There definitely are shadows being cast all over the place.

I'm guessing he means when he turns shadows off(minimum quality) the problem goes away. If there are no shadows how can they flicker? Although that would be like sweeping dirt under a carpet and not calling it a problem...

The more I think about it... is the OP saying it's not an SLI issue because he's turned dual GPU off to test?

Youre using the flashlight to test right? because its the shadow made by the flashlight on SOME object. In the video its the verry first burning house we encounter when starting a new game. (right one to be precise)
Dx10 of course.

does it happen in just that section of the wreck? or does it happen to more parts than just the corner? does it also happen to the burning house on the other side? have you tried replaying the level? it could be a sprite issue.

I recognised the scene and played it over. Still not an issue with the flashlight, no matter how many times i flashed it, ALT+Enter, Jumping, and in various modes of the suit, I get no wierd shadowing.

I think my original point wasn't really clear. The latest Crytech engine is buggy as hell. Lighting and paralex occlusion in particular are subjects often under fire with devs, and it seems some people have problems and some people don't. Here's a vid of some guy who's a dev who can't figure out a strange paralex occlusion issue that I see in the game all the time.
