I dl'd the demo to play around with it some, and played the MP (keep in mind that I haven't played ANYTHING MP since the Quake 2 days)...IT WAS A FRICKEN BLAST!!!

You could tell that all of us has absolutely zero idea of what we were doing, but it was one of the most enjoyable gaming experiences I've had in a long time, single OR multi player.

Will definitely be picking this up in the near future...

this series is about all out, full bore cinematic fun. thats why the intros look like movie posters

a true classic in the genre imo. and for those of use who have always liked horror / zombie movies AND first person shooters...its pretty much nirvana

its a lot of fun

with good teammates. or once you get good at the game. i suppose some people find it too random. the gameplay, i mean. and perhaps for some it is. but that is one of the best things about it imo. its random, doesn't take real strategy, but you need to survive through teamwork and kicking ass. its a gut level gaming experience each and every time

for those who thought the first was a bit predictable after awhile, give this one a shot. the very first Campaign, Dead Center, will let you know things are different. you get turned around, different ways to go, run through fire, scale ledges, have brand new weapons and specials...it really is fun

if you don't have fun playing this, then no use, really. its all about fun and thrills and visuals / atmosphere and blasting away

so for me, that is the fun

yeah i've been reading about that one. i love the series but am a singleplayer guy. and that part sounds much like COD4 but not as good :/

mixed reports about the online server controversy, however. or lack of servers, i should say. and static gameplay

so i don't think i will be getting that at $60

also, i consider L4D a PC gaming experience. so if you have the xbox version and don't like it...welll...i didn't like FEAR on xbox, either. but its one of my favorite games ever on PC

so i understand in that case. otherwise i will be back in awhile to give more impressions of this game so far as how it is different from the first. for those interested

i mean its still the same basic shoot 'em up, but you do have to play it differently at times then you played the first, and for various reasons

Playing single player fucks me off in L4D2, the AI are retarded and I quite often get stomped to death whilst their of prancing off somewhere, more often then not I see them on the other side of buildings when they were right behind me *sigh*

On the roller-coaster part Nick and Rochelle managed to get ALL the way back to the start when me and coach where by the alarm : /

single player is completely useless. the bots are worthless in this game. people complain about to ones in the first game, but honestly they are at least reliable, if dumb. they are supposed to be dumb. but they are helpful and don't just stand around when under attack

these hardly fire a weapon, you can die right in front of one. any team with a bot playing on anything above Normal difficulty would be challenged to survive to the end

at least it feels like that. the maps are still brand new to me. and the players...some are nubs. so the game might seem more challenging. but i am a good player and i KNOW it is different. and more challenging. once i am more familiar sure...less so. but the game throws more curveballs at you and zombies are everywhere. and coming from everywhere

and the weapons are 100% badassery

I completely agree.

On the original I can play with bots on hardest and manage to complete the game without dying (big horde fights are damn hard though)

I get pwnt on normal difficulty often in this, my health drops past 50% most of the time.

Worst AI bit is where your getting gas for the car, AI won't help get gas so I have to run ALL round the area getting fucked up only being able to whack the zombies back with the gas drum D:

I had 2 tanks and 3 hunters spawn at the same time during that gas bit actually

Since the AI wasn't helping me with the gas I just ran away left them to it

Bah I took a screen shot of the AI being fuckers and leaving me dead on the floor for 2 minutes but for some reason, the print screen took a picture of my desktop instead *sigh*
