Processor | C2Q Q9300 @ 3.1Ghz |
---|---|
Motherboard | XFX 780i |
Cooling | Corsair H50 |
Memory | 8GB Micron D9HNP |
Video Card(s) | 2 x 9800gt |
Storage | 2 x Wester Digital 500gb |
Case | Coolermaster cm690 |
Power Supply | Mushkin XP-650 |
Basic Specs w/ no overclocking
q9300 / Arctic Freezer 7 Pro
Asus P5N-D board
nvidia 9800gt
8gb Kingston DDR2 800
Mushkin X-652 psu
Cooler Master cm690 case.
Windows 7
Cooling
6 x 120mm fans. 3 intake + 3 exhaust
Temp readings from realtemp is saying I'm running at 44/44/49/48 at idle. And after running Prime95 for 15 minutes I maxed my temps at 63/62/65/64. From all of the research I have done this seems to be a bit high for the idle temps. I have tried reseating the HSF 3 times now and still keep getting the same results. I have all of my 6 fans at top speed connected directly to the 12v molex. This BEAST is screaming at me right now. The case itself is cool to touch.
I would love to do a moderate overclock but would really like to try and get the temps down a bit before I do.
Do I need a better HSF or is there something I need to know about installing it? Maybe I've just gone retarded today and can't get the job done right. Any suggestions or input would be greatly appreciated.
