Is the firmware operating system independent?

Basically, would trim be working on my Mac OS X 10.6.2?

Yes it is. I don't think Mac OS X supports TRIM yet. There is probably a utility you can run. Not sure about A-Data but the Intel and OCZ drives have utilities you can run periodically on non TRIM OS to perform the cleanup and restore performance.

review of S592 on hardware canucks

I have not yet found a review on the XPG SX95 but I believe it is a tweaked version of the S592. I am very tempted to pick up either the A-data XPG SX95 or a G-skill Falcon very soon.
