I am wondering.
How do I hook up my PC to my HDTV??

Is it simple??? or tough??

Do I just need a HDMI cable???

Yes, and a SPDIF cable for sound which should of come with your video card.

It depends on your outputs on the computer and inputs on your TV.

Video, best to worst:
DVI/HDMI -> VGA -> Component -> S-Video -> RCA

Audio, best to worst:
HDMI (digital in-line) -> optical or coaxial digital audio -> RCA

You basically have these choices (from best to worst):
AMD video card with integrated audio: HDMI -> HDMI
AMD or NVIDIA video card without audio: DVI -> HDMI and digital audio out to digital audio in (coaxial or optical)
AMD or NVIDIA video card without audio: DVI -> HDMI and stereo miniplug to RCA audio in

Your TV manual will tell you what options of the above the TV is most suited for.

I have a GTX 280.

I guess I need a DVI/HDMI cable? and a SPDIF cable or something to that effect??

depends on card, ATI cards from HD 2000 only needs a DVI to HDMI adapter that is included in box or you can buy for any store, it can also be a DVI to HDMI Cable to

on the nvidia side you might have to get a spdif internal cable (also included in box) and then a adapter for DVI to HDMI

so ATI is clearly the best way

yeah dude, id say you need to use the spdif cable. if you dont know which what it looks like; its the really thin cable that looks vaguely reminiscent of a gpu fan cable. your gtx280 should have a little plastic cover over the spdif input thats located right next to the 6 and 8 pin power connectors (at least it is for my gtx260)

You have to connect the SPDIF connector on your sound card to the SPDIF passthrough connector on your video card, it should be a very small two prong connector right near the PCI-E power connectors, though it might be located elsewhere on your card. That will give you audio over HDMI to your TV. Then use an DVI to HDMI adaptor with a standard HDMI cable to connect the computer to the TV.

2 ways for that,I assume your gonna want it through your AV receiver right.So looking at your system spec connect this cable that came with your sound card http://www.overclock3d.net/gfx/articles/2007/10/14080630495l.jpg to the AV receiver.Then connect the video to your HDMI input on the TV.Or do the above mentioned SPDIF cable pass through from sound card to video card.This pic is wherehttp://www.pcstats.com/articleimages/200907/GBTN26OC896H_top.jpg the spdif input is on the GTX260-280 models using the 2 prong cable that Taz posted .
