What does the holiday inn have to do with dead space ?
Nothing really. It was a lame attempt at sarcastic humour. Which I endeavor to include as much as possible in as many posts as I can. As you live in cheif engineerland, I see it is lost on you. However, I got a chuckle from it. An that's all that matters.
Anyway I wholeheartedly disagree it was designed as a pc game with built in controls for the xbox controller and they added PS3 control's for their version.
Indeed. A PC game with the Xbox in mind. Consoleitis.
That said there is no problem with the game simply because it has been ported to the console.
This is true. The fact that it was a lazy port is what makes it bad. The FPS genre should never be kicked in the pants and players should never be forced to relearn 10+ years of game controls when those controls simply suck.
No-one complained of console ports before the xbox and the ps3 I don't understand what the problem is.
That's because before then, most ports either didn't suck or favoured a controller over the Mouse/KB such as a flight sim or driving sim/racer. And the PC was the favoured platform (follow the money). For a good example of how to properly do a port on the PC refer to games such as Oblivion, Bioshock and Mass Effect.
Those games were far from the suckage in Dead Space. Keep in mind, I'm not bashing the game itself. From what I hear, it rocks. But until/if they patch it to make proper use of the keyboard, or until I purchase a programmable keyboard I may never truly know what it is to actually play the thing.
How many here are going to play Dirt 2 with a KB/mouse because it adds difficulty to it, and in some young minds think it makes the experience that much better? Not wise young padawan. Not wise at all.
Me, I'm waiting for a
real game to come to the PC. And the
developer won't mind giving us the control options we
need.
FYI I use an Xbox 360 controller for Dirt2 on the PC and it rocks!
