Sorry But i would not even think about Flashing that card for some time....

Please take Erockers advice.....

You could end up with a 5850 Brick...and it's not worth all that when that card is already better than you actually need..

1.Go to installed directory of MSI Afterburner, default: C:\Program file\MSI Afterburner
2.Use notepad to edit “MSIAfterburner.cfg”
3.Change the parameter of “EnableUnofficialOverclocking” from “0” to “1”.

So you tried that and when you go to "Save" in Notepad it doesn't let you?

I've had my visiontek 5850 for about 2 months now and I still can't believe I haven't really played with it yet. I am still using CCC to oc to the pathetic 775/1125 max allowed. I've read about using MSI AB to clock it beyond CCC but I'm more interested in the new ATI bios released recently.

its for 5870 but I saw a post on xs that said he was able to flash his 5850 safely to the 5870 bios. http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/showthread.php?t=240336&page=2

not sure if it crap or he actually did it. can anyone confirm this one? I'm looking for some action.
