Problem with my Video Card

I recently installed a new catalyst driver for my ATI Radeon 9800 Pro.

I did not notice in the beginning but as the time passed by, when I play video files such as .avi on several media players (Windows Media Player 10, Real player, Winamp, etc...) it starts to lag. The audio output is fine, but the video is very edgy. The display is not smooth instead, everything becomes edgy. I figured that there were problems with my codecs so I erased all the codecs I had and reinstalled them but the problem persists. I use AC3, AAC, DTS, DiVX, Vobsub, MKV, OGG and couple other ones that I cannot remember.

My computer specs are:

P4 2.80GHz (Northwood)
Intel D865PERL system board
1GB Ram
Radeon 9800 Pro (With 5.3 Catalyst Driver)
Win XP SP2

I have 6 fans inside my computer including the Processor fan with 350 Watt Power Supply.

While playing a video, check your CPU useage. Also, go into the Catalyst control panel and check to see that video overlays are being accelerated.
