k it wasnt the cd rom. im getting a new motherboard and case soon. any1 have any idea on what the problem could be b4 i do? it started doing this b4 i bought anything except ram for it. i got new ram for it, then a few weeks later it started not booting. the power would come on cuz the fans turned on but the led on the power button didnt come on. now i have to turn it off and on over and over and when the led on the power button comes on then the pc boots. then i got a new processor, it still did it, i got a new power supply, it still did it, i got a graphics card, it still did it, and ive tried putting the old ram in the pc and it does the same thing with it too. and i unplugged the cd rom jus now and it still did it, and ive tried turning it on with a different hard drive and it does the same thing. the only thing left is the motherboard. and ive tried unplugging and plugging all the cords in to make sure theyr all in good and nothin has worked. so its gota be the motherboard. any1 kno wut could be wrong with it?

Have you tried replacing the RAM?

I would take a closer look at the ram. You said it started occurring after you replaced the ram. You have replaced everything except the ram and motherboard.

What is the ram and mother board?

Are you using the epp timings for the ram or manual settings?

Incorrect settings for ram can cause the problem you are having, including taking several attempts to boot up before it does so.

How stable is the system once it is up and running?

back to basics,
1) clear cmos, check cmos battery has some juice in it (use multimeter)
2) examine motherboard for burn marks or clearly damaged componentes like capacitors or coils, also listen for high pitch whisles (air ionization, usualy means short circuit) or bright spots when starting up (means a component burning, happened to a friend, the voltage control chip would go bright orange thanks to a solder error), examine CPU and socket aswell as pci express and video card for damaged contacts,
3) start PC with only PSU, processor, 1 stick of ram and basic graphics, if it starts, start adding stuff untill it no longer starts, then you have your offending part, if it dosnt, change memory, change graphicas cards and then as last option motherboard and CPU,

Try checking the RAM settings and perhaps loosen the timings a lot in order to rule it out. I have had to RMA my RAM twice in order to get a working set.

On a side note if you want people to help maybe you should try and write in a proper way and stop being so offensive.
