Good cooler to throw on an i7?

I plan to order my i7 CPU a bit later, but i was wondering, what would be a good heatsink to order along with it?. I really don't have a budget. I do plan to overclock to at least about 3.2-3.5Ghz.

I also don't want the cooler to be to difficult to put on.

Any recommendations or thoughts?

I will be paying attention for this... still using stock on mine

on that note, stock HSF, 920 d0 cpu @ 3.2GHz for nearly 6 months now, @ 60c under load, 45c idle. 72f ambient room temp.

A stock air cooler providing sub-ambient cooling ? What ? :confused:

get a mugen 2. Good cooler, half the cost. the temp differences are about 2c from the one the op stated and the mugen.

Megahalem is good, I use Xigmatek DK on mine when not under water. It runs great, but takes up some space.

Look into the Thermalright ultra 120 extreme. Theres 3 versions the regular extreme 120, True Black(what i have), and the Copper edition. With the True Black ultra 120 you will be able to reach 4Ghz and higher. Personally, I use a Cooler Master V8 (with a simple mod) and I get great results on my i7 920. I've booted that CPU as high as 4.55Ghz with that heatsink setup. However, Tuniq Tower 120 Extreme, Prolimatech Megahalem, Sunbeamtech Core-Contact Freezer, and even the budget priced Titan Fenrir (aka TTC-NK85TZ) are all good choices.

Yes it's better that way. I recommend Scythe S-Flex or Gentile Typhoons.

I have the i7 920 running at 3.6 ghz using the zalman 9900, it's fairly quiet and no problems so far.
