I read that the 4770 could be software volt modded by flashing the BIOS and using the ASUS tool to increase the voltage. I got as far as flashing the BIOS. Upon reboot Windows would hang on boot. I flashed it back to the Sapphire BIOS and everything was fine again.

Has anyone tried this with a Sapphire 4770 and can give me some tips on if this is possible and/or why it won't work?

the cards have to be at least physically identical for the flash to work, I'm not sure about 4770's but maybe the Asus one is custom designed/made by them and the Sapphire one is an ATi reference design?

It's been reported working consistantly on ATI reference cards though. So maybe its different than both the ASUS card and the ref card?
