Well I've tried pushing the most I can out of it with my current heatsink and settings. My cpu is the picture uptop with the stepping etc. Here are my BIOS settings. THIS CPU Doesn't Unlock

My ram needs 2.1v to run 4-4-4-12 @ 800mhz but is stable @ 900mhz 5-5-5-15 with 2.1v. Also ran 3.7 with 1.5v but prime95 failed after a few minutes:cry:. I don't want to apply more than 1.5v to be safe so I am trying to aim around that area but gain some more clock speed. Can you guys help?

its a BE, why dont you just raise the multi and take the ram out of the equation?

800CL4 is not slow. it wont hold you back in anything.

Thanks I'll take that in also. What about my settings etc. Could I get more out of this processor, should I change the settings around and if so what ones

honestly, i'm not that up to date with AMD OCing, my AMD rig is undervolted.

i'd set ram to 800MHz CL4, and raise your multi til its unstable... just raise voltages til it is, repeat until you get a clock thats stable at temps you're comfortable with.

Thanks. I been doing that (but with OC the ram also) & 3.6ghz seems to be the stable point with 1.5v.

might be the limit.

I'm pretty sure they still have HT link multiplier, you could try lowering that, raising NB volts and raising memory controller volts (if its different to NB volts, not sure) and see how that goes

Thanks for the input. I will run my ram CL4 with 800mhz. Anyone else willing to share some help?:toast:

You don't have to give up on your ram. Try the fsb again, but drop your ram speed. You should be able to get a good cpu clock and a good memory clock if you figure out the right speeds you want everything to be at.

My 720BE's seem to like ACC values of +2 on the weaker cores. If Prime fails after 4+ hours, this makes it 24/7 stable. Other cores get values of 0.

My son has the 720BE in his PC and the board is not as good as yours its the Micro ATX, GA-MA785GT-UD3H. Wasn't sure about upping the volts as its not an OCing board really. All I did to get 3.42 was increase the multi to 17. That was it. Touched nothing else. Memory runs Unganged at 1600mhz and its G-Skill Ripjaws. If you start out by increasing the multi to 17, then look at the CPU frequency, you might have a winner.

The board we have also can unlock cores, it did work on the 720BE but only on the latest BIOS and it was completely unstable. So its still running as a Tri.
