want to flash my 5850

what would you consider running hot. right now my clocks are 885/1172 and idles right around 54, I will need to run it hard to see what the temps are at full load, I cant remember what my 5850 idled at before i o/cd it? can anyone tell me what there temps are at and at what clocks Dragon

ok did a 3 minute full load test and max tem was 62, so Iam still way lower than my gtx280 used to get too Dragon

I really like new MSI Afterburn 1.5 and unlocked 5850 bios from MSI.
I can oc my HIS 5850 GPU to 950 MHz with 1.25 vcore, i tried 1000 MHz, but it was unstable in Stalker bench, was only success Heaven benchmarking, and it is only 1 fps more then on 950 MHz.
I can use such numbers only for hard gaming in Crysis/Stalker or benchmarking.
I use closed earphones cause i run cooler manually at 60% and its sound very loud.
So i just use this profile sometimes. Temp on this freq on 100% load was maximum 61c after about a hour of Crysis benchmarking.

And i will not use 5870 bios anymore.

With Afterburner you really don't need any bios flashing anymore

dragon the only scary temp maybe when overclocking is vddc check those on gpu-z and check whats the max vddc current!
mine on really high volts and clocks temps where - gpu 68 and in the same time vddc 120

(I really dont know if anyone have ever seen vddc current 96.8 amps on 5850?)stock cooling

so you need to know all the temps not just gpu!

just ran furmark and my temp was 63 as well my vddc was 63 so looks like iam well under for temps, whats a good furmark score? Dragon

thats the filtering option in furmark
