I seriously cannot wait for this game! But to be honest, seeing so many sequels 2009 Q4 and 2010 Q1 FLUNK and fall to its ass, I'm starting to have doubts.

But then again its blizzard, they have never disappointed me or any of their gamers by delivering a really disappointing half-assed game! Partly because they scrap games like that instead of releasing them or delay it for another 100 years of production ><

I created a new Battle.net account, but I’m unable to opt in. Why?

In order for a Battle.net account to be able to opt in to upcoming beta tests, you must have at least one Blizzard Entertainment game that you own attached to the account. Please note that the World of Warcraft trial edition does not count toward this requirement. Having more than one game attached to an account or having specific games attached to an account will not affect your chances to be selected.

You need to go to BattleNet. and start an account(if you don't already have one). Then you have to have at least one battlenet game already. I had an old Diablo II which worked. After you start an account you download a beta opt-in application(system check) and it re-uploads to their server. Then you can check Starcraft II World beta and even Diablo III World Beta.. neither are out yet, but you are on the list with an application.

Right, I installed the first game again and playing through the campaigns again. It still rocks.

And the story is still awesome. I kinda agree with whoever said he didn't care about Raynor and Kerrigan anymore, but I still want to know what happens next. What happened to the hybrids? Who is Samir Duran? How are the Protoss faring? Etc etc..

I haven't played Starcraft since 1999 and I honestly don't care about this next one. I wasn't very good at them but I liked RTS back then. MMOs/FPSs toppled that genera for me moving from LAN based games to solely online play (thus getting away with only playing with co-workers & friends at school). I did buy World in Conflict and it just reiterated the fact that I’m over RTSs.

I’ll play it vicariously through videos and reviews. That’s all I’m willing to do at this point.

i dont like much RTS, because lot of them is very boring after couple hours, but in SC2 there is somthing, im just going crazy how much i want try out beta. I think SC & SC2 is 1 of the worlds best RTS, it is intresting and so on, very fun to play something like that.

I really don't want a key. I don't really care about the game mechanics or what it's like in multi, just the story.

It's fun, back in the early 2000's I considered myself a true gamer. It was interesting to play new games just to see how they worked, what the mechanics were like and so on. Now all that stuff is sooooo boring (unless it happens to be ZangbandTK, wich for some reason I adore), the only interesting thing is the story for me, and the basic idea and setting. But it has to be DAMNED good if I am to keep playing the new games.

I sort of get what you mean, its similar to how street fighter IV ended up. Same mechanics, different visuals, newer storyline.

Anyway yeah I'd consider a damned good game to be like Dead Space, it offered a very solid storyline while maintaining its entertainment without being too gimmicky. Most newer games from my perspective distinguish themselves with gimmicks so much they forget what the story is about *cough* ModernWarfare2 *cough*. Although Dead Space is probably a bad example because more originals make a success compared to sequels (where the gimmicks start rollin).

I wouldn't consider this game to make a new classic, to me it'd be the same awesome RTS game I played when I was much much younger and I'm hoping for it to continue that entertainment 2010/11 STYLE!.
