make it look cool =)

systray feature is a must, especially for temperature monitor. Also, a good log file would be nice.

also, make the "temperature 1, 2, 3" tags editable, like I can change "temp 1" to "CPU" or something like that.

Support to report the stepping, clockspeed and type of CPU currently in your system.
Support to report the memory timings, dual/single channel mode, and clockspeed of your memory.
As wazzledoozle mentioned allow it to control your fans, and enable 64bit users to change their cool and quiet profiles.
Hard disk deframention (if it is and how much so), and if possible a disk defragmentor program?

Hmmm, how about a plug-in to "desktop sidebar" or similar? Or at least a way to create plug-ins for it.

For example, right now I use AtiTool to get the GPU temp and send it to MBM. I then use Desktop Sidebar to get the sensor readings from MBM and display then in the DS Performance bar. Best way to keep tabs on my temps during heavy gameplay.

I think MBM is not supported anymore, so your new tool will be greatly appreciated! :)

How about output plugin's? Have various modules output their data to a nice display.
We're talking about displays like http://www.crystalfontz.com

rather than wrinting a driver to drive the LCD, why not write a plugin for a well established LCD driver like LCDsmartie.

Was just talking about support for, if it's a real driver or if it should use some existing driver is w1zzards choice, he's the expert :)

  • Benchmark like SuperPi (~1min for 3,3ghz athlon fx) with top50 online (like "orb" ^^) NOT fakeable
  • real stability test like prime large fft (max heat, max power consum)
  • clockgens + changing voltages on some chipsets (nf3, nf4) + changing multi on some chipsets (nf3 + nf4)
  • nvidia overclocking

=)

About clockgens, do they really work that well? I had a Nforce 2 tweaker that when I changed any settings, would case a blue screen adn then the computer would restart. Tried a few with same result...

Wizzard, Great software by the way :) . Is there by any chance to add a voltage chart also. The kind of chart to which speedfan uses but with 1-10sec interval readings. Now that would be nice :D Also the 865P/875P Tweaker is also a nice tool. It works on most boards even on dell. :D. Also an automatic sensing for sensors just like speedfan. Some of us just beat ourselves with a stick trying to configure mbm5 :D

Is there any chance we can get an alpha version by next week :D Ah! j/k bro take your time and best of luck for making this app very flexible for everyone's taste.

Thx,
Akura

Put an option to set automatic divider. For ex an option to put max mem speed, and it will auto use a divider to keep it at or under that mem speed at all times. Also put in an option to be able to use and save presets for the amd64 mem timings, so people can easily use good timings for their specific type of ram, so that in the future there will be like "bh utt presets","ch utt presets" and "tccd presets." Also try to get in touch with the makers of occt and incorporate their algorithms into your cpu tester. I find that their test is very fast and accurate, eliminating my need to use prime 95 for 24 hours.

I'll post pics of my PLL number off of my dell 8300 this weekend
As I understand it all Dell MB PLL's either do not have a SMB (System Management Bus) connection or the FSB can not be set via SMB. You can monitor them w/o problems though (I have an 8300 w/the same MB).

This looks like a great project for you and a natural extension of ATITool. I'd be honored to either alpha or beta test it for you!

BTW, have you checked out Wolfram Podien's "CPUCool"? What you're working on sounds a lot like what he's doing and you might be able to share some information w/him, he's seems to be a decent person.

I have an Intel mobo with an ICS "locked" PLL, and I was able to OC it by using CPUFSB and changing the model number in it (from 952601 to 952607). Some ppl have reported having the same PLL in DELL PCs and OCing them by using the same trick.
Wizzard, can you add a feature that lets you know the AGP/PCI divider and the bus clock for both of them in real time? Would be really valuable 'cause, in my case I can OC my proc by more than 400 Mhz, but I have no idea of what clocks my AGP/PCI buses run at, hope you can add this option ;)
Good luck :)
