I think my original point wasn't really clear. The latest Crytech engine is buggy as hell. Lighting and paralex occlusion in particular are subjects often under fire with devs, and it seems some people have problems and some people don't. Here's a vid of some guy who's a dev who can't figure out a strange paralex occlusion issue that I see in the game all the time.

Thanks for the info. but not sure its the exact same problem as me... But still interesting to know :)

Edit: Regarding my issue, I do not overclock anything. All stock clock.

Binge is usually right. Its probably Crytek's engine being retarded. Its not a GPU issue since everything else looks fine in the video.

Have you noticed this in other games?

also... have you tried playing around with texture clamping, error correction or any of the settings in the CPL panel?

Everything is by default. Crytek engine (Crysis and Warhead) are the only problematic game I have found issues so far.
The weird part is that there is no problem on my ATI Hardware...

well yeah... i mean its the fault of the drivers/windows and the way they interact with crytek's game. If you change any one of those elements, then the issue will dissappear. And if you use different drivers/hardware altogether (like ati) then your issue will go away completely (and others may emerge).

I know that the latest drivers give the worst performance in Crysis Warhead... the best are 182.xx - those drivers deliver a 20% boost over any of the 186. or 19x.x drivers. So i would try those, if nothing but for the FPS boost. Also try to set textures to clamp and disable any bullsH*** like ambient occlusion.

Yeah I would love to use a 182.xx but they are not supported (if I remember correctly) by the GTX295.

EDIT: yeah the 182.xx officially support the 295 - theyre really not that old... like 4 months tops.

The driver change didn't do it. And I got confirmation by other GTX 295 user in the comment of my youtube videos that I'm not alone with this.
Probably a driver issue.

Today is a big disapointement for me as a Nvidia consumer.
I got a answer from the Nvidia tech today and here is what I got...

"The root cause has been determined by NVIDIA and the game developer to be the application itself. They have no plans to patch the game for this condition nor can NVIDIA reliably work around the problem.

Best Regards,
Troy
NVIDIA Customer Care "

The way its mean to be played huh???

And you're mad at Nvidia why? Because there's a bug in Warhead that the developer doesn't plan to fix?

That really sux. :shadedshu But at least the game is still playable, but with a GTX295, I would want all the eye-candy I could get.

Well the things is ATI have it working correctly. SO I would think the #1 graphic company will have it too...

I'm not mad if you read me correctly, just disappointed. I really didn't expect that answer from nVidia.
