I'm going to ignore the part where you tell me to read something when you obviously can't understand what I'm saying. On a different but similar note I don't hate Square-Enix. I hate crap, and they push a lot of crap. Except for "The World Ends With You". That was a gem in a pile of crap.

Well I agree with one thing, TWEWY was epic win.

FF7 was fine in my opinion, but albeit a little overated in my opinion. Definitely a step forward in its time.

For choices, I'd pick FF13 over BF: BC, because it sounds like you are gona play SCII for a long time, and that game requires alot of time!

If you just want a straight shooter, and don't care if it's "realistic" then go for TF2! Awesome community, Free DLC, and it's like $20!

FF7 was terrible.

Aww that is the first time I've heard someone say this! But there's bound to be needles in a haystack of positive opinions.

Anyways rescawen, BFBC2 - the multiplayer is nothing like MW2 and pwns the crap out of TF2 bu it WILL take time to play and finish.

FF13 - I heard was a very short game. I do agree with Binge when he says SQUARE-ENIX is a pile of crap. Have you noticed after Final Fantasy X, they started introducing gimmicky battle systems and dumping the old school gameplay which made the company so famous for over 20 years? Their games started to fall (FAST AND HARD) when Squaresoft collaborated with that try hard JRPG maker :(.

So if it were me I wouldn't be wasting the price of a standard game on FF13 in your area mate, if its a hell lot cheaper say like 10-20 bucks pre-owned then go for it otherwise avoid ripping yourself off.

Very short? It's taken reviewers over 30 hours (IGN) and they still haven't finished it. I don't know how much time you want out of a game...

Wasn't FFX developed by Square Enix?

For your second question, yes it was BUT that was also around the time they first joined together. Please tell me you can tell the difference from FF 1-9 then FF 10-13. There is a HUGE difference between those numbers of series. 10 was the margin - 12 was so bad I fell asleep waiting for the intro to finish. FF8 and 9 kept their unique art style, progression, exploring and stories. When Enix jumped into the picture suddenly the series is all about boats that can sail in the air and wars that put less focus on protagonists and antagonists.

By very short I mean the game is very linear, since when was any FF game THIS linear? Even the old school FF games 1-6 on Nintendo had less linear exploration. Are you really telling me despite the cool CG scenes that Square is doing better ever since FF 9 and 10?

These are my opinions anyway its not the time that concerns me its their movement to the new generation they are definitely turning into the typical gaming company who puts CGI cutscenes and character designs before gameplay with the storyline of meh.

For one: Final Fantasy X was made by SquareSoft before it became Square-Enix. There was 2 Final Fantasy X cases released (some with the SquareSoft logo, and some made with the Square-Enix logo). Enix had NOTHING to do with Final Fantasy X.

Second Final Fantasy XIII is about 40hrs+ in length. If you have never played a Final Fantasy game I would say go with BF:BC2.

BF BC2 VS FF13

FF13: You gets to grind and know a story with only yourself to appreciate the numbers.. and once youve seen the credits rolling, you will feel dirty and guilty, thinking that instead of doing all that nonsensical grinding and secret item hunting wich doest mean crap for future FF titles, you should have unlocked levels in BC2.

BC2: You gets to grind and pwn real people and not half assed AI.. and theyl see your skillz as well.

Imo, its BC2. FF13 can always wait. BC2 cannot. If you get FF13 now, and once youve finished it, your the only one with a low level on BC2 while everyone is lvl 20+ with pimped out guns and strong magnum ammo damage..

.. and the moment you shot a well aimed estimated RPG on a flying chopper, and watching it whirl down a flamin' youl be hooked.

The best FF game ever made was FF3 for the SNES. After that they became some kinda metro-sexual action flick. Go with BC2. TPU has its own server and the Mods are members of this community.

BC is brand new, and thus its new to everyone. Also, its popular - if you get FFXIII now and wait, by the time you get BC there may be less servers and less players (with those left being hardcore fanatics) and thusly a less enjoyable game.

FF will be the same experience whenever you get the game.

Maybe I've mis-understood where this thread has lead(or the author's intent altogether)....but if you've never played an FF, then I'd start with the older ones. You can get them in their native format, SNES, PSX etc. or use an emulator(I take it the originals are no longer sold on disc?).

But FFVI, VII, VIII and IX were considered classics. FFX ushered in an era of what has become very recycled and regurgitated art used in the Final Fantasy world. FFX, FFX-2, FFXI(online), FFXII and FXIII are pretty much the same thing over and over, seeming more like add-ons than new games altogether.

I wouldn't lay down full price for FFXIII, it's just not that good, and neither have any of the titles from the post FFIX era.

However if you have Modern Warfare 2, then I would only suggest Battlefield BC2, IF you're entirely addicted to that game type, as it's a bit better than MW2. Mind you, it's no ARMA II, but there's a reason COD fans don't play games like ARMA...

If I were you, I'd go get some old FF games(and Chrono Cross / Chrono Trigger) and maybe Mass Effect 2, or AvP.

Question on FF13, seems there are some who have played it.

i loved FF9, 10, and 12 wasnt bad either. i have 7 on the psn download but been lazy playing it. with other turn based rpgs ive gotten over the past few years: dragon quest 8, last remnant, shin megami tensei 2, and maybe a couple others. I've played these like 50% through or so and just never finished em. i dont wanna get 13 cause im worried the same thing will happen?

ive just found a bit of lost interest to play turn based games through and through. probably fault to wow. just wondering if i should go out and get FF13, cause it will truly be awesome and get me back into turn based games?

also how is BC2 compared to MW2. MW2 pissed me off with all the hackers. ive played battlefield 2 and its alright, but was sooo laggy i found.

I think you will be pleasantly surprised with FF13 ;) Admittedly, it seems more 'on rails' than the other FF games, but that isnt a bad thing (and Im only 9 hours into it, so I havent even scratched the surface really lol)

like i beat 12 after 100 hours of playtime, didnt even feel like to doing the extra stuff, like that 8 hour boss fight. im hopeful 13 can be better.

BC is brand new, and thus its new to everyone. Also, its popular - if you get FFXIII now and wait, by the time you get BC there may be less servers and less players (with those left being hardcore fanatics) and thusly a less enjoyable game.

FF will be the same experience whenever you get the game.
