i want sub of 8 inch for 450$, i confused between Klipsch and Harman Kardon...

For $450! That's expensive for one subwoofer! I would go with Klipsch over H/K with their high-end stuff. Polk Audio makes some excellent stand alone subs too.

DSL makes nice stuff..

I agree though while HK makes fairly nice recievers and dvd players, their speakers are not really all that great, leave that to JBL.

Klipsch is pretty nice, they sound a bit heavy though, DLS generally is very smooth and linear. Polk is a bit different all together, but I do enjoy the sound.

For best results you want 3 subs, all different, one at floor level, one about a foot off the floor and another one at ear level in different parts of the room. *Not sure if you ever plan on going that far, but that's the best way to have great sounding, low distortion, room filled bass.

EDIT: getting back to the topic though... I think These look pretty sweet for the price, and yes i did say these so it is a pair, although second hand and from ebay... but you know, surely worth another look?

Did you just blow the sub I have an mtx in a creative amp and plug assembly cant turn it up to loud. cost 130 but as far as speakers go any 8 inch car sub will do.

For SQ id go with Focal or Rainbow.

SPL id go with Incriminator Audio

it's a ten inch but the acoustech H100 is what I've got and it rocks the house. Extremely responsive. Buries klipsh lower models into the ground. Has a bit of trouble kicking on in auto mode if the volume is too soft but that's not much of a worry for me unless its 2 am and I don't want to wake the roommates up
