Scrolling shows lagging/rubberband effect

my laptop shows rubberband motion when dragging windows or scrolling websites. the motion is not smooth... it goes rubberband. what cause this? how to fix it?

oh yeah spec
pentium 3 at 1.1ghz / 256mb ram / xp home

No idea. Why not post the specifications of the laptop. I mean I could give you some fixes, but they would probablly all be wrong.

thats on firefox right? i check and wow it was uncheckon smooth scrolling. so i checked it. restart firefox... and still same. drag windows and still same too.

do you mean you scroll down a page, and due to the info on the page loading, it makes the page seem to scroll back up?

I dont think there is much that can be done here if it is the case. My laptop does similar things when I look at a picture heavy thread.

no it dont scroll back up. it just show screen cutting.... tearing when scrolling down/up the page. like a line across.

when open ducument folder and drag the folder around... it will be the same.... like the motion is not smooth.... like lag.

Pentium 3 you say...

Right click on My Computer.
Select Properties.
Click on 'Settings' under 'Performance'
Uncheck all the boxes so they are unticked.
Click Apply, and OK.

Check if the 'rubber-band effect' is still there.

video drivers? umm nope. maybe its cause of no video driver? after i reformat i didnt download anything.

and black i will try that

ok i uncheck everything and apply. now it looks like windows 98. when drag boxes it shows invisible trance of the box which is no lagg. when scrolling website... it is still lagg. hmmmm what now? anymore idea? i might reformat again and see if it do something.

ok who said video driver.. i install video driver now it dont have rubberband.
