funny how XFX started as nvidia, picked up ati in the 4xxx days (correct me if i'm wrong), and is now dropping nvidia not long after.

haha my friend has an old XFX 7800gtx laying around somewhere, what a collectors item that is now! a collector's item that's worth nothing, that is ;)

I for one could not be happier ... XFX and their double lifetime warranty can stay with me and only me at ATI ...

note ... the above was said from a non ATI fanboy ... i just have never thought the fermis were worth a crap :)

And apparently, by simply plunging a second monitor to your new shiny Fermi keeps it at *90c* at IDLE!!!! That's 90c 24/7 + 95c under load when you are gaming! INSANE!! And that's with a brand new card not clogged with dust after 6 months of use. What happen then, in the hot summer day, when your video card heatsink operate at only 75% efficiency because you don't dust it off every single week? 100c at idle and 105c under load??? The video card thermal shut down is at 108c BTW.... No wonder XFX pulled out, those cards won't last a year!!

I'm glad XFX produced a 5970, I would not have bought one for that price without a long warranty.
