Best gaming mouse for affordable price

Hey there,
I'm looking to buy a new mouse for my gaming pc. Currently im just using some random logitech wired mouse but im looking for something that might actually help my gaming. So, any suggestions my budget for a mouse would probably be like $50- $80 Canadian so please don't tell me to buy a $400 mouse

Plenty of good ones at that price range. Logitech MX518, G5(00), G7, Sidewinder, CM Storm Sentinel Advance etc

I just looked up a review of the logitech mx518 and it looks like a pretty good mouse especially since I could get it on newegg for $42 bucks! I looked at the G500 and the MX518 and im actually kind of torn between both, the G500 is a couple bucks more expensive (understandable because of the release date compared to the MX518) but does anyone know which one seems to be actually better than the other? Also the CM storm sentinel looks amazing to be honest so now im really confused on which one to buy.

its very subjective... if you can find a store nearby that has both that you can test, do that! Where do you live in Canada?

I tried the G500...it has one more button than the G9 i use...however, i just cant get used to the shape again. It will take awhile to get used to. HF!

Razer Deathadder. Pretty much the same mouse as an mx518 (DPI, sensor, good hand ergonomics for all hand sizes, good buttons) but much much more durable - in about 2 years I went through 4 mx518 GG's due to the random small interval disconnect issue that popped up in each one.

had my deathadder for 2 years now and I'm still on my first one.

I would go for the G500 even though I never used either. the G500 is newer and has a better dpi rating. How much is "a couple of bucks" btw? If its less than $10 ---> most likely G500.

DPI is USELESS at some point.... Most people prefer 1000ish DPI at most, 800 most of the time, so those ultra high DPIs are useless

That G500 is $36 after rebates at newegg right now, that would me my pick.

I'm using the same laser in a G9x, I love it.

Well, I used to game at about 2000 dpi with my friend's Mamba on his laptop, so I would think a higher dpi wouldnt hurt.

MX Performance i love it and its pretty close to your price, they have good deals some times for like $20-30 off and some times they got really good deals at other places so look around

I use a Gigabyte-M8000 and love it. New one is out that you can save macros to the mouse.

Hey guys thanks for all the feedback, as a reply to n-ster I live about 11 hours from Toronto in a small town, and I am going to go for the mx 518 I think. They have it in stock at one of the custom computer places in my town and it seems like a pretty good mouse for $65.

I am going to go for the mx 518 ... for $65.

$65 I can get a MX518 for about £25 which is less than $40! Maybe look around for better deals?

Will put in my 2 cents for the G500. I have used a first gen G5 since it was released and recently upgraded to the G500. A fantastic mouse and they changed the design to make more comfortable then the previous shape(not sure how that is possible as it the most comfy mouse I have held)
The newer Setpoint II software is even better too boot.
I personally think the G500 is the perfect evolution of the G5 and was worth the money I paid for it.

g500 has positive acceleration, too heavy and its sensor is placed too forward on the mouse. don't get it, worst mouse I've ever used.

I have the Coolermaster Sentinel Advance and love it. Onboard savable and customizable profiles ftw. Do NOT pay 65 bucks for a MX518; I'll ship mine to you in Canada I have spare for less than that.

Well guys, I ended up buying the MX-518 and after I did I managed to read all the comments saying don't buy it for $65 . Nevertheless I bought it and I think it's a pretty nice mouse, but I have been considering taking it back after seeing the sidewinder there for 15 bucks more. I don't know what do you guys think? Should I just stick with the MX-518 for now or should I take it back and exchange it?

the 518 is a great mouse, better than the sidewinder. But beware of the reliability issues, make sure you register it so you can get a replacement when the USB connection becomes shotty

Ah well, as long as you are happy with the product, then its fine. I don't think the sidewinder is worth the extra $15 though, you already paid quite a lot for this mouse.

personally, I prefer the M8000 or M8000X, else, keep the MX518
