Hard Disc Diagnostic Software

Hey all. I just bought a WD Caviar Black 1TB and I do not have any software on my pc to check the drive for errors and what not.

Anyone know any good, preferably free, diagnostic software?

Would be much appreciated.

HD Tune does a pretty good job. The free version is good enough.

^ Looks good; I'd use the manufacturer's diagnostic tools always if possible. It should be able to scan the entire drive and provide a health report.

Once you've formatted the drive, you can always use chkdsk to check for filesystem errors (it's going to takes ages on a 1TB though).
