so much except the graphics... sooner or later computers just might be fast enough to run this game and it's insane graphics... i wish they would make it more graphically intense...

Its wow who cares about the graphics, the game would be horrible if they attempted to make it look realistic.

Realistic and good graphics don't go hand in hand. WoW characters still have block bodys, wheels are shaped like stop signs. I played it for 4 and a half years, but I found Vanilla was the best game. Would like it to change, but doubt it will. And even with good hardware the game runs like crap, it has horrible optimization.

I'm not sure about that. I mean, I played it for a couple of months on a P3 1.2 Ghz, 512MB RAM and a Radeon 9000 Pro (I think I ran it on 1024x768), and outside the cities it was VERY alright.

Heck, I could probably play it the system I have now.

It's made to run on those systems. When I was in Dalaran with a PII 720 BE @ 3.8ghz, 4gb DDR3 @ 1600mhz, and a 4870x2 and getting 15fps playing maxed out. Then a friend with a laptop with a dual core and a 8600gt is getting basically the same fps on the same settings, thats pretty unoptimized.

That game is always fine in open spaces, with that hardware I could break 150fps in the open world, but in a populated city or a raid with massive spell effects it would flat out crush my system, a system thats power wasn't really even conceivable at the time that the game came out. I remember my old Dual Core and a Radeon 9850 was a beasty system when that game came out, I use a 9850 for a frisbee now.

im going to go ahead and say it was due to crossfire or you were out of ram.


the game ran perfect on my pc in specs, over 50 fps even in daralan. full detail + more advanced shadows with a tweak on 1920x1200.


all wow really needs is a high end dual core with 4gb of ram and a semi good gfx card...

8600, 9600, 240 or 250 would do just fine.




one day i might start playing again...... but after so long.... and so many hours spend on it... its just not worth it.

I think I might actually restart from level 1 myself when this one hits... since pretty much every area is redone, there should be new quests for level 1-60, right? I just can't be arsed to go through the 1-60 again with the current quests and same locations that I have done for 4 years.
