Though the DirectX 10 standard doesn't makes an obligation to include unified shader architecture in DX10 cards, it's almost 100% certain Ati will use this architecture for the R600, they were the first to use it after all with the R500 "Xenos".

I don't want to speculate but will anyways, cause none of this is confirmed and we have no benchmarks, but if this card wasn't gonna be faster than the G80 then ATI/AMD would be pretty dumb to even release it. Of course it will depend on title some games (OpenGL) will run faster on NV and DX on Ati as the trend has been for awhile.

All of the guys thinking NV is gonna have a 65nm product out Q1 that is gonna beat this card can keep smoking that shit in your pipe. or take off the fan boy cap, and put on the common sense one.

My predication is R600 will be quite abit faster than G80, and NV Refresh which should probably be Summer will even the gap or be slightly faster.

so supposed link from daily tech about NV releasing more products on this core, should be to cover the Low end of the market and middle. To think NV is gonna release another card highend Card quarter one is just stupid, with no low end or middle ground covered in their lineup.

Remember the push for vista is coming, and they are gonna want to pump out as many Low and middle end card to OEM's to be DX 10 compliant. That is where the money is at not the Highend.

You guys need to start thinking like a business and not like Geeks braggin about who has the faster card that gets 20fps extra in Quake 4 than the competition.

I for one can't wait for 2007 to get started and all the Dx10 cards to start flooding the market and price drops. Summer 07 will be the perfect time for a upgrade.

What we need to wait for is not the first round of benchmarks(either when the r600 comes out, or when nvidia refreshes the 8 series) but for real dx10 games to come out (remember how geforce fx's benchmarked well, but dx9 games ground to a halt on it)

I have a feeling ATI --- AMD will make a quality GPU - as for the ddr3 and ddr4 varients, its got to do with the extremely low supply of ddr4 available at the moment. but as it sits, the g80 is one hot videocard benchmarks and heat-wise. the silhouette of the r600 in the sunrise looks nice, but we wont know anything till high noon with the sun beaten down on it...

if that made any sense.

But its not a fake mhz, its a tangible difference in an apples to apples comparison.

In this case, ram bandwidth... Its actually oddly similar to the celeron Vs P4 difference right now...

Now lets just see if they stick a prescott, or conroe with that bandwidth....

Well, I'm waiting for the official specs, not that the Inq. is the most reliable source after all you know.

But I'm quite certain that the R600 will beat the current 8800GTX, it must after being in development for so many years, I only think nVidia won't be caught with its pants down IMO.

Anyways, I intend to buy whichever DX10 card gives me the more bang for my buck.

Having owned video cards from all manufacturers, from S3 to 3dfx to nVidia to Ati and back to nVidia, I don't consider myself a fan of any particular company, don't really understand ppl who engage in passionate arguments over something as superfluous as video cards, or anything else for that matter; I mean, it's not like any of those companies pay my bills for me to give them my blind support.
