Installed Cat 10.5 official and 2D is clocked at 400/1200 now?

What the heck? I'm now stuck at 400/1200 instead of 157/300. What the heck is going on with this driver?

Wow.. thats fail. I remember one of the beta 10.x drivers had caused the same issue. Pretty annoying if you ask me now since it's hotter than a crotch here I don't want to deal with higher 2D clocks.

I say just chill for a bit and see what others report back.... Hopefully its just a fluke...We will see. I was trying to find the FAQ on this release and couldnt.

I fixed the 400/1200 2D clock problem. Here is what I did.
-Uninstall Cat 10.5 then reboot
-Removed both ATI sub directories from: ...\AppData\Local and \AppData\Roaming
-Removed registry Keys: CCC.exe, Mom.exe and ATI Technologies
-Uninstalled MSI Afterburner beta
-Reboot
-Reinstall Cat 10.5 and I get 157/300 again

Before some of you freak out, today is very hot. I have the windows open but it's still reading 31C for ambient temps.

I think the problem was Afterburner. Now that I think about it I had the same issue a couple Cats. back. I'm perfectly happy with the 10.4a's and I'm sticking to them.

I had Cat 10.4 official, safe problem here, except is 400/1250 for me, as mem is default 1250. Will try your fix ECH, as that's the only way to get the lock back "locked" in CCC Overdrive nowadays...and I get better performance in Crossfire with it locked.

And I never use Afterburner....fresh OS without it ever being on the system.

From the release notes I won't bother installing theses. 10.4a are rock solid for me as well.

If you have any 3rd party programs like ATI Tray Tools, etc I suggest that you uninstall them.

my HD4850 is stuck at 500/1050 when it should be 250/500 :cry:

EDIT: oh never mind,i fixed it by going to catalyst and under ati overdrive just pushed the default button and apply and that fixed it up

I wonder if hitting the default button would have done the same thing? If anyone else runs into this problem trying hitting the default button 1st just to see if it fixes your higher then normal 2D clocks.

it might be annoying to most, but its godsent to me the higher clocks are the only thing that completely fixes the flickering screens in eyefinity for me, running 6020 x 1200 isn't easy

Thank's! Did the trick for me, running @ 157/300 idle

Since installing this card my Amp's load has gone down to ~ 3.0A idle and about 3.4A while gaming! With the 4890 VaporX i was at about 3.4A idle and 3.8A while gaming! Great job ATI!!!

I'm going by the readout on my Monster avs2000, so my display/HTPC/AVR/HDcable box are all drawing juice

I dunno man. I have found this to be the case over many generations of Crossfire too...

So, you gotta blow out the ATI registry entries, after uninstall, but before booting after the uninstall. I jsut search for everything ATI, and wily-nilly delete it.

Install new driver. Reboot.

Once on desktop, reboot again, to make sure Crossfire is activated properly.

Bench. Unlock. Bench.

Always lower, and then for example, I gotta run 900/1300 unlocked to match 875/1250 with it locked.

Been like that as back as I can remember. 'Twas part of the reason that Crossfire activation not needing CCC anymore had me so excited....seemed like something funny was going on there, like an auto-overlcock, or something.

Maybe I'm doing something wrong, I dunno, but I seem ot recall in the past that unlocking, or setting clocks above certain points, would adjsut memory timings. I'm not sure if this is still the case though.

Cr@zed^, m1dg3t is also using a 5870 V2 and it worked for him. Just to make sure that I understand you, did you hit the default button, then Apply (if needed)? There are at least 2 in this thread that say it works.

As for what fixed it for me. I think the issue was Afterburner to be honest. But I did the full ATI manual cleaning as a precaution anyway. So I can't say for certain what did it.
